State birds, flowers, trees, and animals brought to board book form for the youngest book lovers. Toddlers will delight in these books filled with rhyming riddles framed by brightly painted clues, introducing elements that make each state so special.
This is a series of riddles (with okay rhyming). The illustrations in the background can be a hint, and then there's an answer with illustration on the next page.
The clue for "cowboy hat" is almost entirely around dress up, which I found weird. One of the answers is "dinosaur," which isn't Texas specific. Another riddle is about the Texas state shell, which is pretty obscure but kind of interesting. One riddle is about chili, which would be great! Except that the illustrations show beans in the chili, which is a deeply unTexan thing.
