Definitely among the best textbooks I've ever used, possibly the single best. Clearly set-out with blocks of text broken up with frequent use of pictures, quotes and statistics. Not only does it break up the monotony of constant reading, but it makes it much easier to find evidence when you need it. Besides, it's fascinating, well-written, and even occasionally manages to insert a bit of pathos in the really awful bits.
