SUMMARY: Follows a caterpillar as it changes into a butterfly, from its pupa stage throught its transformation into a chrysalis to its metamorphosis into a butterfly newly emerged from a sticky cocoon.
REVIEW: This was a perfect book with simple pictures to explain to our 3 year old grandson how a caterpillar turned into a butterfly. Would be a great beginning reader for a child who is interested in this subject or general science.
I'm a Caterpillar by Jean Marzollo is a children's non-fiction picture book. It is categorized as a level 1 Beginning Reader book. The artwork throughout this book is unique in my opinion because the pictures are made out of paper. This book travels through the entire lifespan of a caterpillar, ending with the life cycle and asking the questions, "What comes next?" Non-fiction.
This is the perfect book for early readers to learn the cycle of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. The pictures help tell the story and repetition of some of the words is very helpful to new readers.
Science Fiction: This book is great to use when teaching about caterpillars and the changes that go throw in order to become a butterfly. They use excellent, age appropriate, vocabulary. This book is best for kindergarten or first grade.
Probably the most appealing easy reader on the topic of the transformation of caterpillar to butterfly that I have seen up to this point. Simple. Attractive illustrations.
This book, through colorful illustrations is good for discussing the life cycle of a butterfly and the changes it goes through within the various stages.
