Favorite Quote: “You don’t know what it does to a guy when he sees a hot woman shoot like Dirty Harry.”

The only word that registered with her was dirty.

Christmas reads are fun. You can sit by the fire, pour yourself a little eggnog, cuddle up and read about terrorists who steal babies, people getting their ears blown off, a heroine who is a butcher (she kills someone with a cleaver!), and a sexy spy (surprise you are also a daddy! To twins!) who is there to save the day. Welcome to the world of
Kind of silly but sweet story. My first Intrigue book. There were a couple of glaring, "that was dumb" lines/moments. But for the most part it was a cute story. Gotta love a hot man willing to risk life and limb for his family.

Lara Jordan is a single mother with twins. The father is Reid Graham, who she had one night of passion with him before he supposedly died in a fire. He actually didn't - he had to fake his death in order not to compromise his spy mission to disable a domestic terrorist group! The same day she coincidentally walks back into his life, the terrorists kill Reid's contact, see him with Lara, and kidnap her children in order to get hold of a CD they think Reid's contact gave him. Reid must save the ki ...more

First of all, my apologizes if you (probably) find out some mistakes of english here. I’m brazilian, english is not my first language and I usually read better than write. :)

Unfortunately, Harlequin Brazil doesn't have the Intringue serie yet. The serie is all about spies, SEAL's... In this case, we are talking about Redi, a spy who has left his love two years ago. What he didn’t know was that they would meet each other at the same time he was working on a dangerous case. He has no option but to

This was the second book I've read of Dana Marton. I was disappointed in this one. I had trouble getting past the first part of the book and how dis-likable I felt the heroine was. After what she had been through with the hero, I didn't feel that Marton gave me enough justification that the heroine would jump into bed with him the first time they met. Her heroine was neither strong or role model material. I do feel that Marton is a great author and would consider reading another of her books.
This book was ridiculous, it was so unbelievable and I never became emotionally invested in the characters. I have read better by this author.
Christmas didn't really feature in the story and that was okay. The story had lots of suspense.

I liked it. The plot was decent, and the characters felt real. The actions of the characters felt true to their personalities and authentic responses to the situations they found themselves in.

I appreciated the fact that Reid Graham, though he really wanted to protect Lara, treated her like a woman, not a child:
"I'm going to be wherever Zak and Nate are. If you're trying to sell me on the idea that Cade will be outnumbered, and he needs me to help him, I'm going to be really offended. How stupi
Fast paced, pulse pounding, and hard to put down when my kiddos came in wanting to play.

If you are in the mood for some nail biting suspense and action to go with your romance, this is one to check out. It was a nonstop barrage of "oh my gawd" that kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what they would do next and how in the world these two would work their issues out. I have to admit, I think the title is hokey. Honestly, the author had an uphill battle to wage for my favor starting with thos

There's nothing like a Christmas book to get you feeling all festive! I always make sure to try and read at least one each year. This is a book from Harlequin's Intrigue collection, which is one of those books you pick up and pretty much know what you're going to get. A will they, won't they story line and a nice, cosy happy ending.

Two years ago Lara inherited a butchers from her Uncle and fell for the bad boy baker next door Reid. An impulsive and passionate n
There were many things about this story that I liked - the pacing, the suspense, the plot, and the twins. I even liked the personalities of the main characters but, for some reason, I just never warmed to them as a couple. This may be because their first encounter was very short, happened prior to the main story, and thus is described in terms of past memories, i.e. telling rather than showing. So when they meet again, their attraction to each other is instantaneous, which I understand, given th ...more

The Spy Who Saved Christmas by Dana Marton is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. This well written story is full of suspense, action, a little humor with a bit of steam added. Reid and Lara's second chance story is fast paced, and I love how Ms Marton lets the story unfold. I enjoyed The Spy Who Saved Christmas and look forward to reading more from Dana Marton in the future. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
Grade: B

Storified review to come.... This one was good, but not quite as fun as The Black Sheep Sheik.
