This is an excellent book that I recommend to everyone. Mr. Evans does a great job of explaining the greatness of our God. Chapter 20 was especially great in that it gave the plan of salvation to a lost person in easy terms for him to understand. That same chapter was great for the Christian who witness to the lost in that he gave simple illustrations from daily life to explain the Gospel. He gave a quote in his Epilogue that shows what the book is about. 'Knowledge without application leads to pride, whereas application without the proper context leads to empty emotionalism. Today we have far too many Christians living at both extremes. Unless the knowledge of God results in an encounter with God bringing about the proper response to God, there will be no transformation by God.' Also at the end of each chapter there are Response Helps to help you get the full understanding of each chapter.

nice and slow

It took me a while to read this book from beginning to end not because it was a hard read, but because there were so many pieces of knowledge and wisdom that I had to take the content in small bites. I highly recommend this book if you want to get closer and get a clear understanding and become Less biblically illiterate, I recommend Tony Evans book.

Tony Evans has written concerning the attributes of God. He writes as a pastor and brings practical application concerning each attribute. He uses many effective illustrations. Any believer in Christ would benefit from reading this book.

Originally I gave this title 5 stars. I am revising my stars to zero.

The reason I am doing so is that since reading this title, several things about my faith journey and expression have changed and I no longer subscribe to evangelical ideologies.

Tony Evans does a good job of presenting many of the attributes of God. The only reason I did not give it five stars is a longing for more on the effect this study has had on him and others.

This book hasn't sat on the bookshelf near as long as some of the others, but I did finally pick it up to read. The content was well worth reading along with the time devoted to doing so. Tony Evans hardly ever fails when he places pen to paper. This is a must read.
