Bitterly divorced and struggling to rebuild his bankrupt life, Cole needs a break. With her father's funeral now over, Trish faces a life without a single family relation and all she has to comfort her is her budding writing career. Cole has an opportunity in Kuwait, but due to Kuwait society rules, he needs a wife. So he asks his sister's best friend if she'll marry him for the duration of the three year contract, and in return she can devote all her time to writing. What Cole doesn't know is that Trish has been in love with him since she was 16, and she views this business marriage as a chance to make Cole fall in love with her. A year in, Trish has barely gotten Cole to notice her, and suddenly they're called back to the States as Cole's dad has had a heart attack and he's needed home. Hiding the business details of their marriage seems the best way to move forward until Cole's dad is recovered, but forced to now share a bed, he's having a hard time keeping his hands off his not-so business marriage wife.
There are some fun tongue-in-cheek moments as Trish plots her seduction of her sexy husband. And some of the internal thoughts from both Cole and Trish are wonderfully laugh out loud funny. Of course, there is a black moment with Cole being rather stupid, but Trish gives him a eye opening that sets him back properly. Enjoyed the epilogue.

Comeuppance. The guy is an embittered fool whose ex-wife took him to the cleaners. Marries the girl-next-door so he can fulfil a job contract requirement and thus earn beaucoup money. For a year, he basically ignores his handy-dandy roommate. But once back Stateside, he begins to notice her. And this is when the story begins.
Girl finally realizes that she has got to move on with her life once back in the USA and cease her pining for this worthless man. In the time she spent outside the country with him, she successfully transitioned from a small-town librarian to a full-fledged writer with book-tour and movie-contract offerers. And the guy was just clueless to all.
And the money confrontation was delish. She actually slammed her bank statements down on the table and basically told him "I don't need your stinkin' money!" (unspoken words: because I can buy you ten times over.)
Grovelling afterwards.

I found a little absurd that the H didn't pay any attention to her during almost a year an afterwards takes a sudden interest in the h.
