A really well done story about how hard work pays off in the end. This would also pair well with a nonfiction scientific book about caterpillars and their metamorphosis into butterflies for a school lesson for 1st through third grade. I also think it would be a bit in storytime for kindergarten and up and would foster some really interesting questions about laziness and about caterpillars. I think the author could have cut the last four pages and maybe varied his rhyme scheme a bit more, but the message is really timely for today.
