This casebook, designed as a companion volume to Richard J. Schonberger's World Class The Lessons of Simplicity Applied , contains 26 cases that let students of WCM concepts solve actual JIT and TQC implementation problems in a wide variety of manufacturing and corporate settings.
For readers with specific concerns, each case lists the topics covered and each case includes questions on issues that companies commonly face in implementing WCM concepts.
World Class Marketing (WCM) pushes the author's view of how manufacturing should be ran via TQC and JIT influences to run lean and squeeze out access WIP and shrink batch sizes. The book gives some good historical input on topics such as cycle counts and how plant layout flows evolved over the years. Also touched on Goldratt's TOC philosophy but it was not the focus of the book
