The book was heavy-going. The authors raised very solid points and their arguments were backed up by solid politic theory alongside good research. That's where the problem lay for me - it wasn't exactly a layman's guide. The book would go from research reference to research reference without much explanation of what it constituted which left me with an incomplete picture. I'd give it 4 stars if I didn't get lost frequently throughout every chapter.
For someone with only a passing interest and fairly low experience of politics I would recommend The 13th Labour of Hercules by Yiannis Palaiologos.
