I absolutely love this book and I highly recommend it. I read this as a young girl and continued to read the book to this day. It brings back childhood memories. I have two copies. The first one fell apart because of constant reading it. Classic young girls just starting Junior High School and trying to make friends. One girl is popular and the other isn’t. Well we all know how that turned out if you read the book or if you went through the same thing.

Re-read this vintage 80's classic about a girl trying to make new friends, yet not realizing the girl she most desperately wants to be friends with just doesn't like her. A good lesson that some people just don't respond to niceness....you can't force someone to like you if they don't.

At first I thought Cathy was a bit annoying being so obsessed with Jessica but the book turned out really good & cute.
