Adam Blade is the house name for the Working Partners Ltd. ghostwriters who write the Beast Quest and Sea Quest series.

Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father’s paintings of historic English battles – which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father’s office. Adam’s father said they were a Blade family heirloom.

As a boy, Adam would spend days imagining who could have first owned the sword and shield. Eventually, he created a character – Tom, the bravest boy warrior of them all. The idea for Beast Quest was born.

When Adam grew up and decided that he wanted to be a writer, he was stuck for ideas – until he remembered the old sword and shield, and the imaginary boy he had created when he was young. Adam decided to bring Tom fully to life so that readers could go on the kind of adventures that he always wanted to when he was that age… And still does, even though he’s grown up!

When he’s not writing Beast Quest books, Adam enjoys visiting museums and ancient battle sites. His main hobbies are fencing and football. He also spends a lot of time at home running around after his two exotic pets – a tarantula named Ziggy, and a capuchin monkey named Omar. These little rascals were the inspiration for two of the Beasts that Tom faces on his Quest – Arachnid and Claw.

Sadly, Adam does not have his own Fire-Dragon or Horse-Man. But he really wishes he did!

Svag trea i betyg. Inte lika rafflande äventyr som äventyren med Sanpao som min son och jag läste innan men förhoppningsvis rycker serien upp sig i kommande bok.

This book, I read aloud to my 6 1/2 yr. old. He loved it, but be warned! There is mention of blood, and a bit of details that I thought were too scary for my little guy, so I edited it as I read aloud. Older kids would probably really like it, though.

Read this book to my five and a half year old and he loved it. During the battle scenes he was acting them out. :D seems like a good introduction into fantasy chapter books. Tom and Elenna (who isn’t afraid of anything) are on a quest to retrieve six pieces of an amulet from six ghost beasts to bring Tom’s father back, he’s stuck in a ghost world.

The plot is pretty formulaic and the writing is bland but for a first chapter book it does the trick, and any book that gets kids excited to read is awesome. The long series of short chapter books all with different battles and monsters are pretty eye catching. We’re on a mission now to read all six books in the Amulet of Avantia series in Beast Quest, currently on Rashouk the Cave Troll. 🧌

The book I read was Nixa the Death Bringer by Adam Blade. The setting takes place in Avantia in past times. The genre of this book is fantasy because it contains lots of magic. Tom is a young warrior from the land of Avantia. His father, Taladon, returned to Avantia but as a ghostly form. The only way Tom could bring his father back from the spell the evil wizard castted on him, was to kill all the ghost beasts and retrieve all of the pieces of the Amulet of Avantia. He first has to defeat Nixa the Death Bringer, who uses her voice to kill. Will Tom be able to retrieve the first piece of the amulet? I rated this book 3 out of 5 stars because I wasn't really interested in it but there were a few parts I was curios to see what would happen next.

Now THIS is the beginning to a very exciting quest indeed! I was quite surprised to see Tom’s father make an appearance in this book, and what has happened to him... (No spoiler.) Getting his father back to normal will be the hardest task Tom will face yet, and collecting these amulet pieces the ghost monsters have will be the key to saving him. I love the direction this series is going!

Nixa is so cool! She's the beautiful kind of scary, the kind that I admire. Btw, I love how dark these prologues always are when featuring the beast on the cover.

I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next books, especially now where Tom says he’s feeling weaker after succeeding his mission...
