Doing Algebra helped me realize that Americans are backwards. LOl. We talk backwards. And we think backwards as well. Algebra helps the brain to preform in ways like nothing else I have ever experienced. Coburn's book is best used with the online help of Aleks. The online program is based upon this book, and together they work very well. I think that this book is well written, except there are a few concepts that are pretty easy - where the author of this book made them sound quite complicated. ...more
This book assumes you know EVERYTHING that was taught in Pre-algebra ..100%. It skips a lot of steps that might otherwise be good review or reminders for those of us who didn't "ace" pre-algebra. This also has several errors, and typos that cause incorrect habits.
