It took a little while to get into this book but I was glad that I persevered.
Set in Victorian times, 4 sisters are forced to go to Australia by their aunt when their uncle dies. Whilst on the ship, the aunt dies after finding out that their uncle has left them his shop.
Zachary Carr is tasked to bring them back from Australia but will the sisters all return?
Meanwhile all is not well with the shop. The temporary manager is pilfering the stock and the lawyer acting for the sisters is trying to cat ...more

My 100th completed book this year! I enjoyed it. The switching between different characters and places helped move the plot along and the writing was good quality (unlike some other romance writers). The emphasis was on the storyline and the romance was part of it but not the sole focus, which is also good. Romance is great when done properly, annoying when too overt or when venturing into the erotic. I like a well-written, well-researched, down-to-earth, clean romance with some interesting even

The second book...so good
Having now read the second book of the series, I really loved the continuing story of the sisters. To see Cassandra finally acknowledge Reece’s attention made my day, and to slowly bring in new characters like Zackary and Leo was lovely, the story continued following the youngest sister Pandora s life was so interesting, now for book three..can’t wait!

The 2nd book in this series on the Blakes sisters from Lancashire.
Pandora is not enjoying life in Australia and keeps wishing there was someway she could return to England, little did she know that was soon to happen. The 4 sisters had been sent out to Australia by their wicked aunt, who was now dead. Her husband, the girl's uncle had left everything to his nieces, a succesful grocery business with a house attached to the shop and a few cottages. The lawyer for their uncle's estate had sent out ...more

This is the second in the series about four sisters in the Swan River Colony (now Western Australia) although it can be read as a stand-alone novel. Be warned though, the series is addictive and you'll end up wanting to read them all. I came to this series late, having read about the sisters in Anna Jacobs' 'Traders' Series. But back to the plot. Although the three elder sisters have settled well in Australia, the youngest, Pandora, is desperately homesick. When a young man, Zachary Carr, comes

This is the most gorgeous read.
Anna Jacobs is renowned for providing a wonderful historical snap shot comparison of 19th century life in Britain contrasted to that of Australia. She brilliantly identifies the adjustments and the perilous journey undertaken in between. This book provides the opposite. Something I found fascinating.
I also notice Beyond the Sunset has thus far made #82 on the UK Library borrowing list so I guess I'm not alone in my love/need for a good read. Five stars. ...more
