Mother Journeys: Feminists Write About Mothering is a compelling collection of essays, stories, poems, and artwork responding to this request, investigating with clarity, humor, courage, and sometimes pain, the dual issues of feminism and motherhood.
Like any anthology there were some essays that I thought we're brilliant and some that I had more trouble with or ones that I found boring. It's a useful starting point for thinking about difference and feminism in relation to motherhood. Some of the best essays in the book were those that deal directly with the complicated relationship between gender, activism, sexuality and motherhood.
