Thorgal is back in his old village with his family, but once again his destiny catches up with him when Volsung of Nichor, sent by the snake Nidhogg, steals the belt of the Guardian of the Keys, which grants invulnerability. Nidhogg wants to destroy the Guardian and spread chaos throughout the universe, while Volsung just wants to become king of the world-but they both want Thorgal dead. And Volsung has taken on Thorgal's appearance.

We got back some of the old characters, including her hotness Guardian of the Keys, who has still a weakness for Thorgal (and even if Thorgal is completely devoted to Aaricia, I believe the sympathy is mutual). So here it is, another great Thorgal's adventure, this time with great promise to the future. I can't wait.

Met 'De sleutelbewaarster' keren Van Hamme en Rosiński terug naar personages uit 'Drie grijsaards in het land van Aran' en 'Het sterrenkind' voor een verhaal vol fantasy-elementen, al wordt de rauwe werkelijkheid niet geschuwt. Het is fijn om de sleutelbewaarster, Tjahzi en de slang Niddhog terug te zien, maar Nidhogg's 'onbeschrijfelijke' straf van superschurk Volsung van Nichor slaat nergens op. Aan het einde van dit album neemt Thorgal een ontzettend dom besluit dat t/m album 24 tot problemen zal leiden...

Από αυτή την ιστορία (έχουμε φτάσει στο 1991) σταματάνε οι μεταφράσεις από τη μαμουθκομιξ.
Κακώς δεν μεταφράστηκε καθώς είναι αρκετά ενδιαφέρουσα, με ξωτικά από άλλους κόσμους και έναν ψεύτικο κακό Θόργκαλ που ξεγελάει θνητούς και αθάνατους.

Στο τέλος ένα γνώριμο ηθικίστικο μοτίβο: σε αγαπώ άρα πρέπει να φύγω μακριά σου (επειδή οι θεοί με βάζουν διαρκώς σε κινδύνους). Η αρνηση ενός happy ending είναι απαραίτητο στοιχείο για κάθε ήρωα που αποδέχεται το ηρωιλίκι του με τον καταναγκασμό ενός μισθωτού εργαζόμενου.

Déjà le scénario est assez absurde, l'existence d'une ceinture qui rend invincible et empêche la fin du monde est peu crédible mais qu'on puisse l'enlever aussi facilement ou que le méchant n'en profite pas pour tuer la Gardienne est juste ridicule.
Bien sûr c'est pour le dénoncer et montrer l'horreur du méchant mais il n'empêche que sur 20pages on assiste à un meurtre, des humiliations, de la domination masculine et un viol... Je n'ai pas aimé. Seul la présence des gnomes et surtout la lâcheté du conseil devant le pouvoir de Thorgal (très bien vu) sauve le tome.

Thorgal nous entraine encore dans une nouvelle aventure, au récit intrigant et aux illustrations très réussies (surtout dans ce tome, qui met en valeur le peu d'intérêt pour les vêtements de la gardienne des clés), dans un cycle "VERS LE NORD" composé des tomes 15 à 17, dont c'est le dernier. Les dialogues, les personnages, et l'originalité et les aspects réalistes du récit, que je découvre longtemps après sa sortie, en font, pour moi, une œuvre majeure.

Un episodio di Thorgal meno che fantastico è un evento. In questo "La guardiana delle chiavi succede decisamente troppo, con il complotto ordinto dall'infido Volsung e dal serpente Nidhogg, il ritorno della contrubantissima guardiana e un'avventura che si snoda in una sequenza impressionante di eventi dinamici. Comunque un bel vedere e un bel leggere, ma si poteva distribuire in più numeri.

Myślałem, że to komiks dla chłopców, ale zawierał dużo przemocy wobec kobiet, włączając w to bicie, molestowanie, podstępne uwiedzenie i domniemany gwałt. Do tego kobiety w tym komiksie były kilka razy za bardzo rozebrane. Na koniec Thorgal zostawia rodzinę z absurdalnego powodu, choć niby tymczasowo. Odradzam.

We see the nine tailed snake again, only this time it hires one of Thorgal's foes and gives him his shape and orders him to steal the belt worn by the Guardian of the keys..

The album contains an interesting premise and a satisfactory ending.. We meet a lot of characters from the early albums..

Full of holes. C'mon Van Hamstringy... a belt of the highest possible universal importance that keeps ALL of everything from chaos would have been forged from the strongest possible metal around her waist- not something that you can untie in someone's sleep. You would have to impossibly saw it off because you can't chop her in half or take her arms off to steal the thing since it makes her invulnerable. And then, why would she take it off? Something of that super, ultra, mega importance stays on when you're having sex. ->But no-> It gets swiped. That's only the worst one. I could go on about the how the imposter was written for awhile but I'll spare you.

The art is great but Cinebook shrinks the "grown up" (15+) titles so detail is very often lost in that sort of hazy blurishness that is left for the finer points. It effects Rosinski more than anyone that I can remember. They also erase areonips whenever they can get away with it- which happens often in this one. I don't know which is worse- that, or when they paint clothing over like they did in "Lament of the Lost Moors" (same artist).


Are there any Naturists in England? Because there is nothing at all sexual in any of these instances that I'm describing. Is there nobody to fight the good fight? There's no First Amendment but that doesn't mean that publishers shouldn't be leaned on by somebody.

Volsung krijgt zich het uiterlijk van Thorgal aangemeten voor een missie in de tweede wereld, maar met de integriteit van de dimensies op het spel moet de echte Thorgal daar een stokje voor steken.
Kan losstaand gelezen worden, alhoewel het helpt te weten wie de sleutelbewaarder is.
