This is a colorful and entertaining version of the classic tale. The narrative is repetitive and cumulative and helps beginning readers learn how a story builds. The illustrations are very humorous and expressive. Our youngest brought this book home from her first grade class to practice her reading and we enjoyed reading this story together. I love that she's developing the skills and confidence to be able to read it all by herself!
