Better than Edmond Dantes. This story focuses less on politics and more on interpersonal relationships.

A man takes his young adult daughter to Italy to be educated but she becomes a victim to the machinations of her father's enemies. A very florid adventure. A book that admires females through a kind of chauvinist view but the argument can be made not.
