The town of Mesa Pines, Colorado needs a school teacher. Town mayor Tate Donovan is charged with finding the right person. Norah Hathaway doesn't fit his idea of a schoolmarm. She's too young, too pretty, too inexperienced. Norah resolves to prove -- to Tate and to herself -- that she's up to the job. Tate's two young nieces work their way into her heart, as does their uncle. Slowly, the four of them fashion a family, not of blood, but of the heart. All of that threatens to unravel when Tate learns that Norah hasn't been honest about her background. Can their love survive?

Jane M. Choate dreamed of writing from the time she was a small child when she used to entertain her friends with made-up stories. Her true writing career began when she penned a story for a children’s magazine, sent it in on a whim, and found, to her delight, that it was accepted. Someone was paying her to write! Writing for Love Inspired Suspense is a dream come true. Jane is the proud mother of five children and grandmother to four grandchildren.

It was OK is what 2 stars mean and I guess that is how I think of this book.

I remember a time in my life when I liked ready about another era and the struggles, etc. but I guess I am over that. Everything I have read lately has been contemporary and more interesting to me.

I purchased the second book in this series, "For Pete's Sake" first and ended up buying Bride Price to read it before the other book. Now that I have read both, Bride Price was the better book. Also, the cover design really bugged me. I don't know what they were going for, but it had nothing to do with the book, same with "For Pete's Sake." Wierd!
