An ambitious first volume in what is touted as a complete course in sewing, knitting, crochet and needlecraft. From first stitches in knitting it takes the reader to a Shetland style lace shawl and Fair Isle patterned sweaters. Crochet projects lead to a patterned cardigan, the sewing includes clothing and home projects with some patchwork. Needlework covers the basics of embroidery on canvas (needlepoint).
