I keep loaning this one out... it's that good. It's filled with mini lessons, practical advice and gets you ready for the nitty gritty of doing writer's workshop.
I received this book at a BAWP workshop and love the practical mini-lessons and strategies for teaching writing. It's for teachers of students in K-2 grade. Great visuals as well. My colleagues and I are are making verb/action word posters to put up for our students in the new year (as shown in the book). A great resource for early childhood writing.
When I was in the classroom this my bible for teaching writing. I was lucky enough to have met Marcia on multiple occasions and been able to work with her in a small group setting picking her brain. She is a brilliant woman!
