Lily the garden-talent fairy has a new plant! Her tiger lily is very beautiful, but it's also very vicious. So Lily, Tinker Bell, and the rest of the lovable Disney Fairies must try to tame the wild tiger lily in this all-new Step 3 reader that is sure to be a hit with young girls.
Another from the kid's book haul! This was partially why I even went to the library bookstore. I wanted to see if they had any Tales from Pixie Hollow books. They sadly did not, but then this book caught my eye! So I looked through all of the picture books and young reader books and found the group of books I have read today! This was a cute little story about Lily and her dealings with a new tiger lily flower.
This is a fun story in the Disney Fairies series. It's a "Step into Reading" book, but with a rather long narrative, it's certainly for more advanced readers. The story centers around a tiger lily plant that is more like a pet than a simple plant. The fairies are manipulated into feeding the "poor thing," with disasterous results. It's a humorous tale and we enjoyed reading it together.
Don't be confused, the Tiger Lily in the book is entirely a flower, and has no connection to Princess Tiger Lily in the Disney Peter Pan movie. Typical (yawn) plot of this fairy series. The X-talent fairy has a problem, enlists Tinker Bell and others for help, problem gets worse, and something deep and meaningful happens to solve the problem. Fun for little kids who like fairies.
The art is so cute. Lily really has a talent for planting menaces, doesn’t she? Lol Vidia’s appearance and outfit was from the movies, but everything else was firmly book universe. When they flew over to see the flower, Bess and Prilla held on to Rani’s arms and flew her over there. I recognized everyone in the tearoom before I read their names. I love these. They’re for young readers and wayyyy below my reading level, lol, but the illustrations! There’s so many of them! It’s such a treat, they’re so lovely. The flower ate Lily’s hat and she just. Did not have a hat anymore. I appreciated that, a lesser book would’ve forgotten and given it right back. She does have a new hat at the very end, but it’s implied a great deal of time has passed, so it makes sense that she got a new one.
I read this before bed the narrator for the read along is a very sweet posh sounding British lady and honestly its made me feel really calm and sleepy for sleep time lol
