This book, ‘Beats and Paces’ is one the most refreshing works of an amateur Author in recent times. It wonderfully captures some of the author’s life experiences, many of which are quite eccentric, and the few which are although quite ordinary, but the author’s inclination to think quite deeply in those situations seemingly ordinary interactions, does manage to give a deep perspective to the reader as well.

The poetry reminds one of the sardonic wit which kind of feels like one of Cohen’s poems.
The passages beautifully narrate the incidences, which figuratively puts the reader into that world. The writer has definitely lived an exciting life and chronicled it in an amazing manner.

Hope Mr. M.R. Maiti continues to write such intricate works and wows us more. The writer definitely has a lot of potential to give more evolved works.

It definitely has good pacing and does also have a beating heart in it ;)

✓Im a huge fan of poetry and short stories, specially when they are based on real life experiences that make this relatable. This is why when this book got recommended to me, I knew this is something I have to give a try.
✓This book is a collection of around fifty chapters containing poems and short stories. This book is certain to make you nostalgic because the content is nothing fancy but easily relatable. The content has been beautifully framed, holding the interest of the reader till the very last page.
✓This book also gives you a glimpse of how the trends have influenced personalities. For instance, the quote which I've shared above is from the poem called, "Faces" and that clearly points out people being pretentious these days.
✓The language is pretty lucid, making a suitable pick for the beginners too. I did enjoy reading this.

Sometimes pain and a sour experience takes over our lives and we feel that there is no way out.

This is a book which makes one look beyond the pain. The journey of an author though the crests and troughs of his professional and personal life.

I felt really motivated and energised as I could relate with the author with his struggles. It felt like listening to a close friend and understanding and learning from their experiences.

I guess books are intimate and makes one really connect with others.
