My review from my blog:

I took a chance recently on Twitter and reached out to novelist Lauren Hammond. She had been tweeting about her new novel, Love Sucks, and I just had to get my hands on a copy. The novel, I came to find out, wasn't even in print yet. Hammond got the okay from her publisher {okay, it took a little bit of teeth pulling} to send me a copy via email, in PDF format. Within days, I was reading her novel and feel so honored to be trusted with it!

I'm not ashamed to say I like vampire stories...And I think Love Sucks, a novella by Lauren Hammond is one of the most fun vampire reads that I've had in a long time!

What happens when you wake up in the 1700s, only to find out you're dead? Kind of... Um...Not so much...

Ms. Hammond does a great job of sucking you right into the story with her fast-paced narrative. When Cara wakes up, her entire family is dead...And she is, too. It appears that Cara didn't die of natural

Love Sucks is Lauren Hammond’s debut novel. It’s the tale of a young female vampire who finds herself in a whole new world and is setting out to find her one true mate.

I was quite excited to read this book as I love vampires and I love a good romance story. To begin with I really enjoyed the historical elements and I enjoyed learning Hammond’s transformation of her vampires. Hammond’s vampires are attacked and when they wake up they are thrust out into the world on their own with no guidance or

This book took me by surprise. I ordered this book after talking with Ms. Hammond. Her books immediately captured my interest and it did not disappoint.

Cara was turned into a vampire and left in her grave. After, she could not understand what was going on with her. She meets Andrew, who helps her adjust to her new way of life. Tragedy struck as villagers come to hunt them down. Cara escapes making her way to a new vampire clan. Soon they too are taken over and Care falls into a long peaceful sle

Awesome tale of Vampires without all the glitter! This novella really takes its protagonists back to the origin of their species. With the ferocity of Bram Stoker's Dracula, this book takes a look at the unbeating heart of the Vampire race and finds that they feel some of our same human emotions, just in a slightly different way. It pulls you through the anxiety and confusion that accompanies a transformation from life to eternal life. I really enjoyed the relatively simple, yet unique storyline ...more
