Out of all of Rolands biographies written on his artist friends this one is my least favourite. It is still well written as always and with good research behind it but it misses things that I know he knew.
This book might be OOP (out of print) and if it is, it's a shame. This book is equal parts biography, art analysis and photography portfolio. There are some great pictures of Ray hanging out with Picasso, playing chess with Duchamp, and relaxing at the Villa Elaine, his apartment that still stands on the corner of Fountain and Vine in Hollywood.
