A sweet romance. Loved the addition of a young child for these two to consider as they dealt with forgiveness and allowing God to take the lead in their journey. I enjoyed this.

Seth and Elise have a past that must be overcome! Elise thought she'd never see Seth again after moving back to Kellerville to be with her family after 6 years. Then she learns that Seth not only is back in town, but has a little girl named Olivia with him. She doesn't understand why, years ago, he walked away from her but now has sole custody of her. Quite a few misunderstandings come to light, but Elise still finds herself questioning Seth. Can she see beyond his past self to discover the new man he's become?
This story has a lot of things for the characters to overcome, but the author does it with grace and a whole lot of forgiveness! At times, I wanted to tell Elise to stop doubting Seth and realize he really has changed!! So sometimes the story was dragged out a little more then I like, but after I read it, I understood the reasons and made the ending more beautiful! I think readers will delight in coming back to Kellerville and reconnect with characters from the first book. I am looking forward to reading "Hometown Dad" next, a story of Nathan and Melanie!

Welcome to Kellersburg, Ohio, where our heroine Elise Keller has returned home to the welcoming security of friends and family. She has left behind a broken relationship with former co-worker Seth Finley. The last thing she expects is for him to also move to Kellersburg, bringing a very visible reminder of why they broke up along with him.

Unforeseen circumstances force her to be in contact with him. Seth is clearly interested in starting over, but Elise is not so sure. What does it take for her to decide that maybe they are meant to be together? Seth has become a Christian, but is it enough?

Merrillee Whren skillfully places people in Elise’s path that help guide her choice. She reminds us that a faith-based relationship can help mend wounds and bring people together.

This sweet, well written story is one I had read it before, and I liked it even better the second time around. I loved the characters. The family, friendships, and romantic relationships fit neatly into place.

Hometown Proposal can be enjoyed as a standalone novel, but I would encourage readers to read all three books in this series.

After running from her job on a cruise ship and returning home to work, Elise Keller seems to have worked her way back into a happy place until Seth Finley takes a job in the same little city. And – he has moved with a child he had refused to acknowledge while working on the ship.
Seth struggles to show Elise he has changed since becoming a Christian. Elise struggles to accept his changed life and reconcile his love for his daughter with the free-swinging, carefree bachelor Seth had been.
This is an engaging story of two people challenged over the issues of forgiveness and acceptance on their road to happiness.

Elise and Seth have a past that she can't seem to get over. She doesn't want to talk to anyone about it. Seth takes a job in town working at the Recreation Center so now Elise has to see him. Events happen that cause them to spend time together. One of the biggest events is his daughter Olivia who has taken an immediate liking to Elise.

The story is an emotional read. I really enjoyed how they both have changed since their first time together and now they are both asking God to direct their lives. Really good book.

Seth Finley and Elise Keller have a past. After a break-up that destroyed Elise's faith in Seth she thought she would never see him again. That is until he shows up in her hometown as the new Recreational Director.

Her family takes Seth and his little girl under their wing, which makes it near impossible for Elise to avoid Seth - and her feelings she has for him. When Seth is seriously injured in a car accident she realizes how much she still cares for him. But this confuses her even more. While she helps care for his little girl while he recovers she begins to wonder if a relationship could work out. Has Seth really changed?

This little romantic book packs a big wallop. Seth is paying the price for past sins. He has made a lot of changes in his life, but he can't seem to convince Elise that he has seriously changed. Even though it is pretty obvious what the outcome will be in this story - the journey to get there is a sweet ride.

Elise had come home and put her failed relationship behind her. Now her dad has hired her ex! Why is he coming there? Why did her dad hire him? How is she going to handle it? And now he has custody of the daughter he denied! How did that happen? Seth became a Christian after they broke up. Will Elise ever believe that he has been made new? Can he have the patience to win Elise's heart back? Can Elise find God's answers to her questions? This book is a sweet love story wound around today's problems. Very well written story. Give it a try, you'll love it as much as I do.

Good book....I enjoyed this story alot. I liked that Seth & Elise had a past (intimate) relationship before they became Christians. It made them more real (human.) Little Olivia was absolutely adorable. I also liked Seth's mother and the Keller family, and Lukas....I LOVED that Seth's last name was Finley (since that's my best friends last name "g")...Thanks again Merrillee :)

Seth Finley brings his daughter Olivia to Kellerville where his old flame Elise grew up. She is back as well after breaking up with him, finding out about his daughter was a shock. Burnt cookies seems to put everything into perspective...
