This will be one of the books that I will read over and over. The impact that it has had on my life cannot even be articulated. Anyone I share words with from this book are also inspired. Brent Haskell‘s book The Other Voice is a must read if you like to read Words from Jeshua instead of what people remember him saying, which is what the New Testament is…

A Review Of “JOURNEY BEYOND WORDS” and “THE OTHER VOICE” authored by Brent Haskell Ph.D., D.O.
I first began studying “A Course In Miracles” (ACIM or the Course) some 20 years ago. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Brent Haskell came to San Jose, CA to give a week-end seminar. I was introduced to his first book, “JOURNEY BEYOND WORDS”, which was channeled to him from Jeshua (Jesus) and is totally Jeshua's text, not that of Brent. As it is geared to the lessons in ACIM, I found it extremely valuable to my understanding of them and the Course itself. Here Jeshua explains the Course in much simpler, everyday terminology. His explanations and teachings in the Course itself are much deeper and often difficult to get a hold onto at the first readings.
HOWEVER, this book, and his second one (infra) should, IN NO WAY, be used as a substitute for working through the Course material. It is best used as an adjunct to it. Jeshua had a reason for setting out the text of the Course as He did. To not read the actual ACIM material would be losing a lot of the essence of its philosophy and truly cheating oneself. But "JOURNEY" and its companion book, "THE OTHER VOICE", which is geared to the first half of the text material, acts more like a classroom teacher to help one understand, more easily, what is being said. Much better than “Cliff Notes”, but still no substitute for the actual Course material.
Sadly, for some unknown reason, the third book, (which was channeled to and through Brent) geared to the second half of the text, was never published. To this day, I have never found an explanation for that. As for the first two, I still refer to them quite often, even now. They are beat up, marked up, torn and taped together, but still ever so helpful, some 20 years later. For 20+ years, I have been/am a continuing student of ACIM, having taught classes in it, spoken at seminars and given individual talks to groups, as well as, having done/am doing some writing on it. These 2 books by Dr. Haskell are a very worthwhile investment for anyone truly serious about studying and understanding A Course In Miracles, especially if you are just starting to study it.

A very good book. I have also read The Course in Miracles and this one was a great folloup - add on. Relly enjoyed it. The basic understanding from this book was also used in my books
