This book covers the basic pros and cons of each of the mentioned livestock guardian animals with a brief description of the various breeds within each group. While a good book for beginners and those with small homestead herds, anyone needing more in-depth information is better served elsewhere.

Excellent explanation of these breeds for beginners. If you are thinking of getting an LGD, this is a good book to read prior to marking the commitment to purchasing a pup or adapting a grown dog. These dogs are not for beginners. Please read this book!

Tons of useful information here. If you are thinking about starting a small farm and/or looking into non-lethal predator control, this is a must-have. If you have been farming for a while and/or significant experience with LGDs, this book may not really benefit you, but as a novice to these areas I am finding it invaluable.

My family and I are getting meat goats and want to get a livestock guardian for them. This was a great book. Very informative. I checked it out from the library, but I think I might just have to buy myself a copy.

An excellent and comprehensive guide to livestock guardians. Very much written in an American context but still full of useful and in depth information that can be applied to a variety of contexts.
