It's been a while since I've been this emotionally distraught over a book, but oh my god. This book made me so angry, I have no words.

Banks introduced us to Cole in earlier books, and I immediately fell in love with his character. HEAR THAT? IN LOVE. What she made him go through in this book... *pulls out hair*

The situation:

She re-introduces us to droolworthy, (my future husband *sighs happily*) character, Cole.

She introduces us to ANOTHER awesome (i'd-totally-eat-you-up-so-

Extremely disappointing to me after anticipating Cole's story for so long. Readers who have not followed the series may enjoy it, however, those like myself who have a knowledge of Cole's character from the prior books will be greatly disappointed in how his character changes, the lifestyle he chooses and the woman he ends up loving. I don't know when I've been this angry over a character's story. I'm thankful the series is over. Unbelievable!

Well, I was expecting the worst...but thank God it wasn't the worst of the series (that honor goes to Sweet Persuasion). I knew going in that I wouldn't like the D/s relationship and all that ordering around that it entails, and god help me if the bondage elements got too extreme...but I started this series and stubborn fool that I am I'm determined to see it through!

So..the D/s relationship? Wasn't too bad. Yes, there was ordering around of the "get on your knees" and "take off your clothes" ty

I really liked Cole in the other books so I was ready for his story. I did enjoy the story but it is not for everyone. I don’t want to give it away but there is a sorta love triangle.

This is different and again not for everyone. It maybe isn’t my personal “cup of tea” BUT that being said it wasn’t a turn off either.

I very much felt the push & pull of Ren’s emotions which is what kept me interested the entire time.

I didn't like it.

I think I need to give this book another chance. I am going to give it another try to see if I change my mind...I think I might.

*le sigh* You know when you have been ‘following’ a character for books and books and books and finally his book comes up and you have a certain expectation of what you would like that character’s HEA to be like…then it doesn’t quite turn out the way you wanted it to? Yeah… *le sigh*

Honestly, I am going to have to do one of my ‘breakdown’ reviews for this book because I am so…*le sigh* about it I’m worried I’ll just vent. And that’s not nice and that’s no

Cole Madison has been a character we’ve seen throughout the Sweet series. So I was interested to see what Maya Banks had in store for him. However, I never would have anticipated the events that happened in this book. Banks brings readers another exciting, evocative story that will sure to raise your pulse rate and make your toes curl!

SWEET ADDICTION is written in three parts – Lucas, Cole and then Ren. In each respective section, Banks focuses more on one hero and Ren

Boooooooooo! That was a major disappointment. The main issue I had with it was the believability of it...or lack of. I did not believe that these 2 super dominant men would behave in this manner...never...ever... Especially with how it wrapped up. Not a fan...

First off, I have to say that this the first review I've done even though I've read hundreds of books. I'm just that motivated to express how utterly displeased I am with this book.

The rest of this review does contain spoilers so if you don't want to know more, don't continue reading.

According to the description, you were made to believe that the story would be about Cole and Ren. However, it turns out to be yet another story with a love triangle and worse yet the girl cannot seem to choose wh

A disappointment all around. One dimensional characters, an old stale storyline, and an unbelievable ending left me wondering if I was reading an erotic romance or a script for a porn film. Ren, our submissive heroine, had all the personality of a blow up doll which is readily apparent when she allows herself to be passed around like a blow up doll, crying pitiful tears as to why no one "loves her". I also didn't like the feeling Ren gave me that everything that was done to her was okay as long ...more

Cole has been in the background of the previous Sweet series books since the beginning. He’s a presence at The House, but rarely does he do anything other than help prepare the women for their dominant partners. He played a larger role in Micah and Angeline’s story when he finally let himself get more emotionally involved, being a part of Micah and Angelina’s relationship. All of that was a substitute for the huge hole that’s been in his life since he wal

Well, what can i say other than "Uhg"! I was very disappointed with this story. As the story says, Ren and Cole used to be in a serious relationship when they were younger. They experimented with BDSM and Cole ended up going too far and hurting her. He started pulling away and ended up leaving her, convinced she wouldn't want to stay with him or submit to his dominant needs. 10 years later, Cole sees Ren in a restaurant with Lucas and he finds out that she's a submiss

This was perhaps the most profound and beautifully written book I have ever had the pleasure to read. As a woman who is in the BDSM lifestyle herself, I applauded every single word and sentence which made the paragraphs enticing and gripping. I felt the words become emotions and come to life as a beautiful and wondrous picture was painting in my mind. Maya Banks was dead on with feeling I've felt myself, how the pain and pleasure blend, how much trust you place in your Dom being a submissive. Yo ...more

I'm abandoning this one. It's such a shame because I like this series, especially books 1-4 and Maya Banks is one of my favorite contemporary erotic romance authors. I made it almost half way through so my rating is based on what I have read.

The biggest reason for abandoning this book is because of my connection, or lack there of to the characters. I never connected to Ren and didn't care what was happening in regards to her. I liked Lucas, but he went all cave man in a way that didn't work for m

Sweet series was my favorite series of Maya until this book.
The second and third book were extraordinary.Although Angelina and Lyric books was ok and terrible,respectively...but Sweet Addiction was the worst!
I was very excited to read Cole's book, because he was amazing in the previous books.
I've read a great "trio" books, but this one is far far away from this.

Cole looks like a third in his own book!
Yeah, because Ren just thought in Lucas the most part of the book.

I have to start by saying that I loved this series so much which is why I think my disappointment in the story that Cole finally received was so great!!

I believe anyone that is a fan and has read the entire Sweet Series expected far greater and totally different things for Cole. This is a Super Dominant Alpha male and you want me to actually swallow the fact that he would share the one true love of his life?? Come on, really? This didn't even really feel like Cole's story to me, since Ren and Lu

Ten years after Cole Madison left the woman he loved, Ren, he never thought he'd see her again and have the chance to be with her again. His guilt over hurting her as they explored their needs and desires as young adults in a Dominant/submissive relationship has stayed with him, though he's long since acquired the skill and experience to be a true Dominant. So when he hears her laugh in a restaurant, it's the shock of his life. But nothing can compare to the agony of seeing her as the submissive ...more

I rather liked this book. I think it's probably my favorite of the series so far. It mostly hit all the right notes.

Series Note:
Sixth book in Banks's "Sweet" series, which tends to focus on BDSM relationships. I think this book is independent enough to be read as a stand alone.

Years ago, Cole Madison and Ren Michael's turned their youthful relationship into one of dominance, submission, pain/pleasure, and experimentation. But one tragic event caused Cole to leave Ren. A decision he's re

It was a 2-sitting read, what more can I say ... Maya Banks did it again! *grin* I've loved the Sweet series, had a soft spot for Cole since I first read him, and am a sucker for (view spoiler), along with D/s relationships, so this book ticked all the boxes ... plus, as always with this author, it

Holy Toledo! This book is HAWT with a capital H-A-W-T. I might need a cold shower after this. For serious. For the record, while I have read other books by Maya Banks this is my first foray into this particular series. Coming in at book 6 could have left me wallowing in confusion but I never - not once - was lost with who was who and how they all related to one another.

I know I've said before that I'm not a crier and then I've promptly gone off and read a book that proved me wrong. This book, th

Simply put this book doesn't even deserve a review, it's just so messed up and insane. The main characters are all shit crazy. They all need serious help. It was all too much I couldn't wrap my mind around it. I'll just put some parts that I actually liked :

“Would our children inherit nothing from you?”
“Just my love of you.”

“Because I bloody well love you. All right? Happy now that you’ve managed to strip me to the barest of layers? I’m bleeding before you, Ren. I’m as vulnerable as a man can be

Wow. I enjoy Maya Banks novels, have read every one and bought this one the moment it came out.  BDSM and menage do not offend me and the way it is usually handled by Banks has made me a fan.  This novel for the first 100 pages had me thinking Fifty Shades, but rapidly devolved into sick and twisted and finally ended up with the most forced and cheesy ending I have ever read.  Civil ceremony for polyamorous relationship is one thing but to throw a priest and to insinuate God's blessing into the ...more

Ren has a very strong submissive side. She knows what she likes, and she is very confident and unapologetic expressing her wants and desires. After being in several D/s relationships, she has found all of her needs taken care with the dominant, Lucas. Although love isn’t necessarily a part of their relationship, he provides security and protection and in return Ren gives him obedience. Ren is happy and content but then an old lover returns.

Cole and Ren had a wonderful relationship ten years ago,

I have to admit I was scared to review Sweet Addiction, because I am a HUGE Maya Banks fan. I have loved all the books in the Sweet Series and have been waiting for Cole’s story. I do not read many book with a BDSM theme to them, but this series I just LOVE. I like that there are all degrees of BDSM in the Sweet series.

I have been interested in Cole since his first appearance in the series and we are finally getting his story. There were things tha
What Did I Think? I am on the fence about Sweet Addiction. On one hand I loved the individual relationships with each man (and the smokin hot smexin) but something was just missing. This story was so hot my eyebrows were singed. The sex was in your face, one scene after another. And, man, was it so good! Wow, it reminded me of Damon and Serena's relationship (Sweet Persuasion) in that Ren was totally submissive, in and out of the bedroom. But here's the twist: two men were involved; one from her past, the other her current dom whom she's happy with, both vying for her attention and love. Supposedly this is Cole's story, and although he had his opportunity alone with Ren to ...more

Maya Banks is a wonderful writer. I read a lot of her books. Her writing style is very fluid and filled with lovely description. That said Sweet Addiction is very well written, and I enjoyed the book and the storyline until I got about mid-way in the book--when Ren is taken on a yacht to get away with Cole. The things that take place on the yacht is beyond a submissive relationship--it is darn right, straight-up abusive. Cole and Lucas are supposedly in love with Ren--they find her perfect in ev ...more

I'm MAD. I'm HAPPY. So I actually don't know how I would feel. But I guess I did like it more than I hated it 'coz I gave it a 4 star rating.

This is Cole's story. Cole who was just voyeur in the past books. Well if I'm not mistaken, the past 3 books except in Micah and Angelina's story wherein he made a big appearance. But other than that we know nothing about Cole's past until the last book. So reading the blurb, well I thought typical story. Boy left girl. Boy wants girl back. Girl is already
