An action packed, thrilling ride of a read with the start of a relatively new series and new protagonist, Lieutenant Harrington. We are introduced to him, his team and various law enforcement and crime scene peripheral characters, as well as his girlfriend and family. What begins as one murder, rolls on to become a rapidly escalating investigation into one man's obsessive killing spree.
Really, the action leapt out right from the first few pages and didn't relent until the heart stopping conclusion. The novel has certainly invigorated my interest in E.H. Reinhard's writing with this new character - he's definitely grown on me! 😊

Good page turner.

Really liked his writing style, fast and clean. No filler descriptions or actions, he makes his point. Lieutenant Harrington character is tough and lovable. Sycophantic killer out to get everyone did him wrong, in his mind. Horrible murders. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

He followed his bride of a year .. to the house of her boyfriend. He waits until her car leaves and seeing red, pounds on the front door. When his wife's lover opens the door, he attacks with a knife. Multiple stab wounds ensure that the man is dead.

He enjoyed this so much he decides to do it again ... to his wife. And why stop there? All the women who have ever wronged him needs to die.

Lt. Nash Harrington and his team are baffled. There are several suspicious deaths ... all look like they've been murdered by the same person. There's the man who lives alone .... a married woman is found dead in her bathtub, a prostitute is stabbed to death in an alley. And the deaths don't stop there.

So what's the connection between the victims? Harrington is sure that once they figure out the why, they will know the who.

The reader knows from the first page who the killer is. Normally this would take away from the suspense ... but actually in this case, the suspense is only heightened. Watching a man explode from the inside is not a pretty sight.

This is a well written first novel in this series. I definitely see a shopping trip in my near future to gather up the next 2 books in this trilogy (BESET and VESTIGE). The characters are solid, starting with the Lieutenant right down to Lucky, the 4-legged beast that plays a huge part in the story.

The spring cleaning of my kindle continues with a new-to-me author who delivers a fast paced police procedural with great characters. It's set in Florida & follows a team of homicide detectives as they investigate a bewildering & sudden uptick in the local murder rate.

It actually begins with the killer's first strike so we know from the get-go who is responsible. Our time is split between them & the cops as they race around trying to keep up with the crime spree. The author's style makes for effortless reading & the pages fly by as suspense builds. Characters are well fleshed out & I enjoyed spending time with Harrington & his crew. The only "bad" news is it made me want book #2 Beset. And I wonder why my TBR pile never shrinks 🙄

This is a great book to start a series! The characters are good, the plot is good, the flow is good. I cannot wait to read book two and others by this author. And I love Lucky the dog!

When a man finds out his wife of a year has been cheating it sets in play a series of killings that are brutal. When it becomes evident that a potential victim is the girl friend of LT Harrington it's a race against the killer to get to her.

An enjoyable read

When Chris Mercer finds out his wife has been cheating on him, he snaps and murders his wife’s lover, a hooker and finally his wife. Lt. Harrington from the Miami-Dade Police Department and his team are called in to investigate.


Apparently, Chris has had a history of women cheating on him in the past and his wife’s betrayal has only brought up buried grudges. Now, he's targeting his ex, neighbor and anyone who stands in his way.


Wrath is the first book in the The Lieutenant Harrington series. This was well-written, with interesting characters—including Lucille 😂—the dialogue memorable, and good pacing. Would recommend

Author E.H. Reinhard's new series featuring Lt. Nash Harrington premieres in. "Wrath". A police procedural that strives to be a suspense thriller. Have read all of Reinhard's Carl Kane and Hank Rawlings books I was looking forward to reading this new protagonist. However I found this 199 page tale to be somewhat skimpy and it's character development to be very lacking. We know who the killer/ bad guy is from the first couple pages, and as his reign of murder continues throughout the novel it's fairly predictable. Although I read this one extremely quickly, it's enjoyment was limited. There are two additional books in this series so far. I'll read the next two books in this series since I'm a Reinhard fan. Hopefully they develop much stronger as they go. I'm giving , "Wrath", three stars out of a possible five stars. (Book is really about a 2.67 star read.) This one needed much more meat and potatoes.

Really good

Very intense and a mad man killing all the women who cheated on him. He was crazy. And it was quite interesting. One part where he got in the detectives house was off like why didn't they search the whole house but it was just a small part. It was a good book.

Basic E.H. Reinhard fare. Police procedural, quick read. This one takes place in Miami as opposed to the normal haunts, Tampa (Kane series). Other than a different location, not much to separate them.

I've found another series that is going to keep me up at night. Wrath, Book 1 in the Lieutenant Harrington Series, starts off with a bang. The action is fast-paced and the story is compelling. I like how the author developed the characters and included just enough detail to keep me turning the pages well after I should have been sleeping. I highly recommend reading this book and reading the other books by EH Reinhard. You will not be disappointed. Very good reads all around.

Multiple mayhem flows throughout this book !

Five stars doesn't do this novel justice! It's four in the morning and I'm still awake I just finished reading this book cover to cover none stop, I can't believe how fast I got glued to this fast paced book.
If you like a good white knuckle mystery that will keep you on the edge of seat mesmerized by the authors literary writing skills you'll want to get started reading this book! I'm sure glad I found this author.
I've Got to get the next Lieutenant Harrington book in the series so I can continue following his fight against crime !

The story could have a good one, jealous nutcase kills all his girlfriends because he got cheated on ...... It just got a bit out of hand, to much uninteresting details what made the story longer and boring. Besides that I do not believe that a Police Officer from Homecide will have his windows at home always open, no security system and the back door unlocked ...... no no no. To long, to many boring pages and why would the neighbour stay at the back door in full sight to call 911 when the intruder is there with a shotgun ?

3.5 Stars This book captured my attention. The police protocol seemed to be accurate. Didn’t really learn much about the characters besides the villain. Lt. Harrington has a live-in girl friend, but the book is short on romance.

Miramar. Arriving home from a trip he knew Grace Mercer (36, Chris’ 2nd. wife, Realforce Realty) was lying.
She had been banging Nick Ludwig for quite some time. He was later killed.
Officer Rey (Midwest Patrol District), & Officer Donaghy (35+, Midwest Patrol District), greeted
Lieutenant Nash Harrington (25+, narrator, Miami-Dade PD; homicide) at the crime scene.
Colt Greenway (35+, Miami-Dade Crime Lab) soon arrived.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. Wow, a very well written murder crime thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great cop murder crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

Chris Mercer just knew that his wife was having an affair so he made sure to find out the truth. His rage would see others that wronged him die as well. The police have been called to a murder scene the victim had been stabbed repeatedly the only clue is a woman's name. Did she have something to do with his death. Lt Nash Harrington and his team is on the case what they think is a simple homicide turns into a killing spree. They are busy looking for the woman Grace Mercer but she seems to have disappeared and her husband Chris is fishing for information. Can they find Grace and figure out what she had to do with the victim or will it be too late? Nash knows that they need to watch Chris but before they can bring him in another young woman is killed but is this linked to Chris? Nash's girlfriend Amy knew the victim and she shares what she knows about her past relationship with Nash and now they know what the trigger is for Chris. Little do they know that he has is sights set on Amy. Can Nash bring Chris in before the trail of victims becomes higher? A good read.

Wrath, a Lieutenant Harrington Thriller by E H Reinhard

I think this had all the elements needed for a good solid entertaining read. The story was interesting. While the plot twisted back and forth you pretty much knew the whole thing right from the beginning. How does that work?

Loved the characters; even the minor ones are interesting. The dog was pretty cool too.

The author seemed to have a bit of an obsession though, with starting cars and stopping engines. Mentioned half a dozen times in the first half. Eg. “clicked off the ignition of my truck." While attention to detail is great, saying the same thing over and over again, even using slightly different words, is boring.

This is a short book and reads very quickly.

Lieutenant Nash Harrington and his team catch an unusually vicious killing. It is not long before another murder occurs, and they just keep coming. Pretty quickly, the police have a suspect. The problem is catching him.

The killer takes the police on a merry chase before the dramatic conclusion of the story.

This is a very well written little novel. It has plenty of action. The reader gets to see the investigation in detail. The procedural parts of the story are very well done. We also get to see the killings and the motive from the murderer’s point of view. What a horrible person.

Mr. Reinhard has a talent for writing action scenes and ratcheting up the tension in his books slowly. I will continue to read his books.

This book was just "OK". Too much narrative at times relating to nothing about the story - for instance: took up time and space to talk about how the backyard space was set up and used for. Then nothing about the backyard until the very end when several pages were again taken up to describe a bbq party he was having.

****SPOILER ALERT***
I have 2 dogs and so I know that if someone were hiding in a closet in the next room for several days, the dogs would most definitely know someone was there -- and if in the attic for several days the dogs would be non-stop acting up so we'd know something's wrong. And most definitely if one of the dogs had taken a bite out of someone when they were attacking me, the dog would NOT have welcomed that person near him even if the choicest treats were offered! Maybe other dogs would but this element just seemed unrealistic.

Cut and dried

Good story and lots of action to keep you occupied. Held back by some very soggy dialogue that often felt stilted, along with a step-by-step narrative style that becomes a little irritating. This reader prefers to work a few things out for herself, and much of the narrative, mostly in the first person, is of the "I did this, and then I did that" type with little emotion, and extraneous information on insignificant and uninteresting details of daily life. I prefer to discover characters by seeing how they react to the circumstances thrown at then. I guess it can be a fine line, but this story suffered because of it. Good plot and lots of twists and turns, and a satisfying resolution.

I was hoping for a good read but most of the sentences in the first chapter are choppy. And starting so many of them with the guys name (Chris this and Chris that) seems very amateurish. In one paragraph of six sentences four of them start with Chris.

Amy goes home stating she’s going to pack and go, but first decides to sack out on the couch? What part of a dangerous serial killer is on the loose and you may be targeted did she not understand.

Despite the choppy sentences (in one instance three sentences could easily have been one and flowed better), the storyline was pretty good and I cared for the characters (except for the serial killer of course). I’ll give it a 3.5 rounded up to four stars.

This was a quick read. There were good things but unfortunately some not very good things. The premise of knowing who the killer is was not a problem for me. Its weird, because I found the third person perspective to be better writing and more enjoyable. The first person pov was not as good, wgich was unfortunate because it was from the person whose side we are to take. There was too much exposition in this perspective. Like, a whole paragraph on him making coffee? I don't get it. The third person pov of the killer was much more entertaining.
I also found I just didn't really care about any of the characters. And if you can't be invested when life and death is at stake...well.

Disappointed! As a procedural the procedures had little to do with the solving of the crime or the apprehension of the criminal (it was pretty obvious to all who did it from the outset and he knew pretty much all through that he would be caught). There was more luck than judgement in any police success. Found the characters a little underwhelming (except the dog) and there were as others have said, too many holes in characters actions and thoughts, and too much unnecessary description. I have the 1st Lt Kane book and might try it but I am in no rush to read any more of these. 2 stars as I did finish it.

There were parts of this book that were very believable and the police procedural parts felt real. But then there were too many pieces that felt more like filler with the hero doing stupid things and making uncharacter-like decisions for the sake of adding suspense to the story. IE: let his girlfriend go home alone when they know she's on the psycho's to-do list as well as the psycho having just looked up someone's information in a police database. That blew it for me. The plot does move along but is very predictable and we know from the beginning who the psycho is. This is not one of Reinhard's best works.

Murder in Miami

Reinhard has provided enough action to last a good month for the most hungry reader. In addition he takes the time to create meaningful relationships between his characters. So we end up with a well rounded cast and a plot line that keeps us reading. Also I should add that should someone want a police procedural they will find it between the covers of Wrath. Have never been a cop, but Reinhard follows what I believe to be a true rendition of what a PD would do, think and feel in case such as Wrath. Don’t worry about Reinhard, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Wrath.

I don't want to leave spoilers but some of the reactions and scenarios were nor all that believable. I will leave it at that. I will probably read the second book in the series at some point to see if some of those kinks get worked out of the story line.
The story itself was good and showed promise but much of the detail seemed to me like it was just being put in to fill up space and turn a short story into a novel. But that's just me. As an aspiring writer who has never had anything published maybe I am just talking through my hat. It was worth the read. Enjoy.
