I believe it was in August when I discovered the treasure of the Family Reading Bible from Zondervan (head back to read my long thoughts and review here). Now I am so excited to be able to also share with you about The Christmas Story from the Family Reading Bible.

I have to say that when I first saw the cover variations between the hardcover book and the mass market paperback book I was leaning toward liking the paperback that matches the cover of the Family Reading Bible, but after getting them

I was looking for a nice biblical Christmas story to be able to share with my daughter, and I thought this would fit the bill. A great collection of Bible passages - both Old and New testaments - referring to the Saviour's birth. --handy format; discussion/review questions - great concept -- good for the thoughtful Christian as well as the curious scholar

It would be a good devotional to use for a family with children during the Christmas season.

“Families matter to God. Your family matters to God. He wants your family to be a safe, loving haven in which you can raise your children to love and obey him and believe in his Son, Jesus. God gives you, the parent, the awesome job of teaching your children about him and his Word. The Bible clearly instructs you to teach God’s commands to your children: Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. —Deuteronomy 6:4–9” 0 likes
