Bodywise
Bodywise is based on Joseph Heller's own brand of deep-tissue bodywork, which makes the connection between life issues and natural bodily alignment, and shows how to restore the body's natural balance. The book teaches readers how to regain control and become a full-time owner of their bodies. Part One explains the way the body works, in everyday life as well as in the structures of consciousness. Part Two takes the reader on a guided tour of the Hellerwork experience.

June 3, 2026Another great easy read that just amazes me how our body and mind are connected. Highlighted so much to trial on myself and clients. This would be especially brilliant if you've studied Rolfing or Hellerwork.

Read a long time ago, and keep rereading parts of it as needed. It's one of the best books on the body mind connection ever. And a forerunner of Vagus Nerve/Polyvagal stuff I would say, though it doesn't state that explicitly.

I read this in a dance class in college and liked it. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to understand their body and body movement more.
