If you wish to go into depth it's great but for a readable book, it's boring.

A brilliantly written book with the right balance of politics and personality. He had a fascinating life, the only King to have known the life of the lowest of his subjects. It would have been interesting to know his true feelings as he is such an enigma to history. Truly surprising to find out that he was more a melancholy Monarch than Merrie.
Pre 2012
Charles II had the most interesting life out of all the Kings I have read about. He really was a bit of an enigma. Absolutely fascinating and as always with Antonia Fraser, brilliantly written.
