A little boy goes on his very first trip to the library. What will he find? A new library card, a nice librarian, shelves of favorite books (and new ones, too), story time, and even an Internet search terminal for Mom in this first-experience DK Reader about an afternoon at the public library.
DK Readers is a multi-level learning-to-read program combining DK's highly visual style with appealing stories at five graduated levels. Stunning photographs and engaging, age-appropriate stories are guaranteed to capture a child's interest while developing reading skills and general knowledge. DK Readers allow progression of stories for beginning readers with simple sentences and word repetition through to stories with rich vocabulary and more challenging sentence structure for proficient readers.
This is another level 1 book in the DK Readers series. It is good for beginning readers and has some challenging vocabulary words, but it's not too difficult to be frustrating. The book has big and colorful pictures and really shows how fun, helpful and inviting the library can be.
Although our girls are very familiar with visiting our library, it is a good book for young children and introduces the resources that are available.
