Refusing to align herself with either the Enforcers or the unrepentant, Danielle Weston lives her life as normally as possible. Her work as an antiquities consultant for Chicago’s Field Museum allows her to use the knowledge she’s gained over a thousand lifetimes. Even though she’ll always long for Heaven, she’s come to accept life on earth.
Grant Carson, the head archaeologist for the Field, has never believed in anything he couldn’t see or touch, but an artifact he brings back from a dig in Peru might shake his beliefs to their very foundations.
Danielle and Grant must come to terms with their desire for each other amidst the dangers of unrepentant fallen and mortal criminals. With help from friends, they must keep the artifact safe. But will all their strength and love be enough when Lucifer comes to call?
Tiffany Aaron has always been writing. She still has one of the first stories she ever wrote about a time machine and talking mushrooms. While her head was in the clouds, her parents told her to prepare for the "real" world. So she got a degree and a job, but never stopped writing. Her favorite question is "What if?" and so a story is born. She lives in Michigan with her loving husband. She has two dogs-one who believes he's human and the other who loves to hear the sound of her own bark. When she's not writing, she's reading or watching Jet Li movies.
The archaeologist and the fallen angel. Grant doesn’t believe in anything he can’t touch. Danielle is a creature of faith. Now that’s a combination I wouldn’t have expected to work out. Chicago, the fourth entry in the Fallen series, is a great mixture of romance, mystery and intrigue. Once I started this book, I just couldn’t put it down. I found myself sneaking pages at work just to find out what happens next. The characters were all captivating. The heat and attraction between Grant and Danielle is the perfect combination and you cannot help but smile when they finally realize that they belong together. I enjoyed how the secondary characters, instead of acting like fillers, added depth to the story. Unlike the previous book in this series, I felt the momentum of the book stayed all the way to the end. The battle at the finale may have not been violent and epic but it was certainly satisfying when Christian make sure all the bad guys got what was coming to them. Of course now I have a new favorite Fallen and can’t wait to read his story.
This is the second book in the series I have read. So far the the books I have read have worked very well as stand-alones. Having missed the first two books and having several of the secondary players come from those books really makes me want to read what I missed. I can’t tell you how excited I was to discover there are two more books in the Fallen series yet to come. Read the first three books then read Chicago. In my opinion, it’s well worth the time.
I received this book from JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.
