This is a book that begins by telling what a safari animal is. The book depicts African safari animals and sets the reader on a journey to learn about many of them. For example, a group of zebras is called a herd. Most safari animals like to stick together as opposed to running solo. A fact in common with humans, young animals also learn from their families.
This book is primarily a picture book with a short fact on each page. The pictures are large and very colorful. The book may be a nice introduction to those students with no idea about Africa or that these animals live in the wild and not only in zoos.

~Beautiful snapshots of animals in their environment
~Informational text gives examples of how animal lives are different
~The photographs could be used to springboard into creative writing about what else is going on in the picture, jokes, caption writing.
~This could be part of a biological science unit.
~This book would be appropriate for all ages depending on its use.
