About the author

Edward Moser, is no talking head, but a historian and long-time author. A former speechwriter for the President of the United States, and an ex-Editor of Time-Life Books, he was also a writer for Jay Leno’s “The Tonight Show”. He is the author, co-author, or editor of 14 published books, on such subjects as history, politics, humor, and technology.

Общоприетото виждане не е винаги (даже е доста рядко) същото като историческата истина, особено за важни събития в националната история. Тази книга се опитва да разгледа историята на САЩ и да разбие някои митове относно миналото й и относно основополагащи събития и личности.

Митовете че "Ф.Д.Рузвелт извел страната от Голямата депресия", че "гражданската война е била заради премахването на робството", че "Маккарти е бил параноичен и съветски шпиони в САЩ не е имало" и т.н.

Повечето (да не кажа всички) от тия неща аз ги знаех вече и като цяло аргументацията и самото им поднасяне са доста разговорни и елементарни, но за незапознат човек, особено американец най-вероятно ще са доста интересни или поне ще го накарат да потърси повече информация по въпроса.

Hillarious the first 20 or 30 pages. Then the jokes got a little tiring, and my enthusiasm fizzled. My favorite was the PC defintion of marriage - Domestic Incarceration.
