Having spent most of her young life left to her own devices, Bridgett Mortimor has filled the lonely hours with fantasies. I had force myself to finish this book. Was it just me or did she not climax with him at any point in their "relationship". Also I appreciate the storyline the author was going for but the execution fell flat+the erotic scenes annoyed me the most. So yeahh that's a 1 star from me (sorry not sorry).
P.S: people that enjoyed the book and gave it a 5/5 what was it about this book that did it for you? Genuinely curious.

This is the usual formula, drunken step father gambles away pretty step daughter to a prestige guy and thus the story begins. Vincent won Bridgget in a game of cards, he then took her home with him, there Bridgget met his family as well as Vincent training her to pleasure him sexually. Its a good read not bad the characters had a a lot of issues to resolve with each other especially when Bridgget comes out of her shell of shyness and naive. Vincent seem a little mean sometimes

I remember reading this book many moons ago and thinking to myself that this must be one of the worst forms of "erotic" literature that I've ever read. As far as I'm concerned there is nothing "erotic" about a hero that abuses the heroine for practically 3/4 of the entire book! Admittedly the hero did have a pretty gruesome past but nevertheless the heroine did not deserve to be treated like a piece of meat!
