Another great read by L.N. Cronk. I can't beleive how much I care about these characters.
This 4th book to me is about Dave's heart - love for a new child, jealously, stepping away from God's direction, hurt, anger.
We continue to watch Dave and Laci's children grow and their friendships with Tanner, Jordon, Mike and his wife, Charlotte and Mrs. White.
A few unexpected things occur in this book too which just makes it harder to put down.
I felt that (and I sure is it addressed in the future books) Tanner's relationship with Christ is still very unclear and that Dave isn't doing all that he can to minister to Tanner but I also know how hard it is to minister to your friends. and family.
Keep up the good work! Looking forward to book 5, The Other Mother.

Another book I am unable to put down. I just bought the 5th book and I can't wait to start reading it when I get back from Church. This part of the series had me crying and again feeling and attached to the characters. We always give and take in our lives and I often ask myself why do I do this? Why not let myself follow God? Why do I strain away and think my way is going to be better when I know it won't? Something I am for sure going to work on among other things. Bring on Book 5! :)

I still feel really connected to these characters and I am enjoying reading about their various experiences. This book (and all of the books in the series so far) was a quick, easy read. I really like the characters and I LOVE that they are HUMAN and they make mistakes yet God loves them anyway--a good reminder for all of us!

This book, like her many others before, failed to disappoint. The keep you on your toes/ a constant page turner to see how events fold kind of grip Cronk has on you is still strong, BUT there are some things I would've liked to see happened differently in this book. Firstly, more details on what happened to Amber would have been nice! I knew that this being a Christian book and all gory details would not be described in the least, but a shorten overview of what Tanner told David in David's narration would've been perfect. I guess Cronk left that to an unimaginable horror - treat for her readers to think about... no cool Cronk. Secondly, Charlotte's melodrama could have been less, melodrama-like. Taking your anger out on someone you feel so close to and love is a bitter thing to digest, so why would David laughed that off like it was okay? I didn't like that at all, but I know deep down in my core that we've all been guilty of it. Guess this was Cronk's way of allowing us that release through Charlotte. Okay, so maybe it her venting wasn't that bad. Thirdly, I think in this book there were a lot of secrets. People not being 100% truthful was in every situation, it was crazy! I'm not saying I didn't like it though. In fact I actually liked how she incorporate the thing of lying into this book and showed us through the main character just how badly lying backfires. David almost post Amber because of his not only decitful actions (sneaking around w/ out telling Laci or consulting God) but because of his later slightly hasty and hostile nature. I was so shocked to see the how nasty the jelous side of David can be. Poor Jacob. My third reason doesn't necessarily constitute as a dislike of mine so I'll use that as my first positive and now work my way onto positive number two: Tanner ♡. He showed up in this book big time by really being that ideal "ride/die, always by your side" kind of friend. Maybe he was being risky because his results (THAT WERE NEVER MENTIONED IN THE BOOK AGAIN.. GRRR) were positive for Huntington's and now he just wants to live it up. I still liked that he risked everything and put himself on the line for David, and Amber. I love the love David developed for Amber and will honestly pray my husband loves our children the same! And I really loved how Laci portrayed a strong yet devoted wife and mother throughout the sneaky little mishaps and adventures she knew Davis was doing. Laci is a beautiful woman♡
Overall Ms. Cronk, you've DONE IT AGAIN! I'll be purchasing book #5 tomorrow and plan on finishing it as soon as you can whip up another ;)

I enjoyed this book just as much as the other three so far. I can't wait to continue the story of this family. I love the message all of these books share about faith and prayer. I liked getting to know Tanner better in this story and am excited to see what the next books have in store for all my favorite characters.

I love this whole family and group of friends. They are real and their story could easily be anybody's. it's so well-written, I'm surprised its not a movie!!! I just love the legacy Greg made and I love this book! I can't wait to dive into the next one!!!

These keep getting better and better as this young family of believers strikes out in yet another direction as they fight for their extended family. And they read so fast because you care about the characters

The saga continues with three more twists, including a heart-breaking one with a little girl in foster care, and a long-lost relative. Just finished it and bought the next in the series right away.

My favorite in the series so far...as a teacher myself, I know firsthand some of the struggles kids come from and seeing just pieces of Amber's life in this book made me completely understand David's frustrations.

I have to say this book wasn’t as good as the previous 3 books, but it was still enjoyable. It shows us what true friendship is and how that can affect our overall lives. I will definitely continue to read the series and enjoy every minute of Laci and David’s lives.

I enjoyed this book the best out of the series so far. The interaction between characters and the surprises were enjoyable to read.

Really more like a 4.5. This one kept me hanging by a thread through the whole book. I am so attached to these characters I just want the best for them.

A new character shows up, and silly David expects danger around every corner. Caution is wise, but his prejudice is unreasonable. Remember, "He'll come around."

Dave is hilarious. He makes me laugh inside with a lot of his dialogue, inside and out.
And the very human mistake of Dave not seeking the Lord because of our own desire to be right! To do our own will. Makes you cringe while reading it but a lot of us have been there. He acts so out of character and doesn't even think like a normal person in some parts.
In this book, there's a little bit of interesting backstory to Mr. White and Charlotte. And a happy ending! I was kind of surprised at the ending as it seemed like Dave's previous actions would bar him from forever being a foster parent. He acted insane compared to his normal self. I wonder if his behavior will come back to really bite him later.
Although this book dealt with some serious topics, it wasn't overly heavy and did have some humor in it.
Some characters are noted to have cursed. But nothing is written out. Some sexual abuse is discussed but not detailed.

“You’re the most beautiful girl in the whole school” -
David says this to a young foster child just after she has been cruelly bullied because she is smelly and has self-cut hair; a girl who is mute and can’t defend herself. Just love that he would affirm Amber like that. This is my favorite line in the series so far.
Book 4 again tackles some huge issues but this is all handled within the framework of characters you like, who like each other and enjoy being with each other, which makes this book and the series feel like you are sitting down with old friends catching up on their lives.

L.N Cronk did it again!!
This book in the series is about Greg’s best friend (I always forget his name) and his sister Charlotte. Also about Chase, Tanner’s brother and a mysterious brother.
I was angry at Greg’s best friend most of the time because he really screwed up.
It was filled with so much emotion, you’ll laugh and cry. My eyes welled up with tears at the end. Such a beautiful story of school friends. I wish I had very close school friends till date.
Moral of the story: be nice to everyone, you never know when they’ll step in for you and be the help you need.

I kept my interest like the other books in the series but it just is too unbelievable that all this drama could possibly be in one persons life. I mean it’s possible but usually not for a person following god like David thinks he does. Anyways it was good to have some Christian reminders to trust god and that everything works out better when I do trust him. But yeah David sometimes really kills me. Sometimes he’s likable and sometimes I really hate him…
