PiggyWiggy, his beloved toy, Teddy and all their friends sample space flight con brio! They are properly outfitted, they know how to make repairs to their spaceship, and they are eager to make friends with aliens. They are, in fact, nearly ideal astronauts- trained and ready and fit -as long as they get back to Earth in time for breakfast!
I assumed that this book would be about a pic that wanted to be an astronaut, and it was. But a fairly disappointing one at that. It started of ok then all the sudden it ended. No clear story line, no conflict/resolution, some idea of sequence I suppose. All in all it was not a favorable read.
Wonderful to use in a story time -- large format, illustrations are big, bold, and bright, text is bold and brief, filling one side of each double-page spread.
PiggyWiggy dreams about going into space and becoming an astronaut. Large print and one sentence per page makes it a great book to share in a group setting.
Another Piggy Wiggy borrowed from the library. I liked the illustrations and I also like the concepts introduced - having to learn the controls, stuff floats in space, going outside to make repairs, etc. Cute and fun.
There's not a lot of plot, I think my preschoolers would be bored, but this one is perfect for toddler story time. A large format with bright, bold pictures and simple text.
Not too much going on here from what *I* could tell, but my 4 year old enjoyed it quite a bit. I liked that, if I recall correctly, the main character was not gendered.
Cute illustrations with stark, contrasting colors and bold lines that really caught the babies' attentions. The writing was quick and easy to read, but the ending was too abrupt and all of us looked a bit puzzled.
I actually like Goodnight Piggy Wiggy best - but I couldn't find it to add - he's just adorable. The text is nice and the pictures are fabulous. What can I say, I've got a thing for pigs...
Bought this for Emmeree when we went to NASA Spacecenter Houston with Grandma, Tyler, and Alexis on June 8, 2011. The bright and colorful pages caught my eye.
