This is a delightful little YA book I obtained from my local library's used book store, which benefits the library.
Jenny Archer loves a mystery. She loves a mystery so much that when she notices people working at the house across the street, she becomes convinced that the painter isn't really a painter, nor the carpenter a carpenter, nor the movers actually movers. And surely the new neighbors must be crooks of some kind!
Is there a real mystery taking place at the house across the street? It turns out that yes, there is! But it's not what Jenny imagined it to be.
This book brought a real chuckle to me as Jenny's vivid imagination took hold. I also loved the pencil-drawn illustrations. This would be a fun book for elementary-age children.
