The Lost Hero is the first book of The Heroes of Olympus. The story follows the event that happens a few years after the Percy Jackson series. The story begins at the Grand Canyon and a teenage boy name Jason suffering memory lost. He found out that he was with a group of people from wilderness school. He met Piper and Leo that claimed to be his friends. Jason knew that he didn't belong there but couldn't remember anything from the past. Coach Hedge, who is in charge of the kids, told Jason that he didn't belong here. As they started to do group activities, a kid named Dylan turned into a Venti and started to attack them. Coach Hedge transformed into a Satyr. Jason found a coin in his pocket and it transformed into a sword. Just as they were being beaten badly, a chariot came from the sky and Annabeth came and saved them. Coach Hedge was taken away. They were taken to Camp Half-Blood, where demigods of Greek gods and goddesses were kept safe. Later on, Leo was claimed by Hephaestus and Piper was claimed by Aphrodite. Chiron, the leader of Camp Half-Blood was shocked by Jason's arrival and said that he had already been claimed and should be dead. It was revealed that he is the son of Zeus. Hera, wife of Zeus, showed herself in a cage being prisoned. She requested Jason and his friends to save her. Jason chose Piper and Leo as his partner. Leo found the mechanical dragon that was invented by the Hephaestus cabin and learned to control it. They rode on the dragon and went on their quest. On their quest, they fought against giants, cyclops, and other god and goddesses that tried to stop them. As Jason started to gain back his memory, he found his sister, Thalia, and realized that he belonged to the Roman demigod camp. Therefore, his father is Jupiter. They went to San Francisco and saved Piper's dad and went to the wolf house and saved Hera. It was revealed that the person behind this was Gaea, the mother Earth. She wanted to overthrow the gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus and let her sons the giants be king.

I like this book because I like Greek mythology. The author cleverly blend Greek mythology to modern times and make an adventurous story. The story is told in 3rd person omniscent and each chapter is told in the point of view of a different character. The story is fun to read and the fun doesn't get even if you read the Percy Jackson Series.

I will recommend this book those who likes Greek Mythology and read the Percy Jackson series.

I've been on a run of mediocre books lately. Thank god this one came along and shook me out.
A continuation of the Olympians books, this book introduces a hero who has amnesia. Jason wakes up on a bus with two friends who appear to be his best friend and his girlfriend but he doesn't remember either of them. They are on a camp bus for troubled teens but he senses some danger. And the Grand Canyon is no place to be having those feelings. When a villain appears, Jason has to leap into action. Immediately, he and his friends are whisked away to Camp Blood where, readers of the previous series will be disappointed to learn, Percy Jackson has disappeared. So we don't get to see a beloved character in this book, but as the book progresses, other old friends appear. The twist is exciting and the new characters are just as fun as those from the previous series. Rick Riordan is a master at setting up threads give you just enough information to suspect what might happen in the following books of the series but not giving too much away. He also weaves the mythology of Greece (and now Rome) into his stories seamlessly.
Jason has to work with his friends (as well as a 60-foot mechanical dragon) to try and figure out his past as well as save the present.

I thought this book was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The characters, settings and just about everything is fantastic and makes the book feel real, like if its happening in real life. I like the way Rick Riordan writes, that's why kids like his books so much. There captivating and interesting and AWESOMELY COOL!! That's what i thought about this book. Everyone should give it a five star, everyone should like it!!

The story line was good and Rick made great characters. I hope he keeps up the good work for the second book coming out this fall :D

Like all of Rick Riordan’s books, the Lost Hero is a thrilling adventure of mystery, emotion and action. You’ll meet Piper, Leo, and Jason, three fun new characters, who will take the story to another level. When Percy Jackson has gone missing, a new demigod and his friends arrive. He doesn’t know where he from or even who he is. Together, he and his friends will fight to find the truth, that might be better of not knowing about.

I loved the story, but it was a bit dragging. Overall great book!

In “The Lost Hero” there is one characteristic that intrigues me. The god Hephaestus appears multiple times, but Jason knows him by his Roman name, which is Vulcan. I investigated more and I learned that not only the name changes: Hephaestus is the god of blacksmiths and fire and he is related to creation, yet, the god Vulcan was the god of destructive fire and exploding volcanoes. This guy has 2 faces. Actually, all Roman gods and goddesses are based in discipline. The Roman people saw like if they had a whip in their hand. They felt like ants under the gaze of a waiting predator.

Love it. I just finished this book again. There are many series in the Percy Jackson series in this order. Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Kane Chronicles, Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, Trials of Apollo. The Trials of Apollo and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard happen at the same time so you need to read them at the same time. But The Trials of Apollo is longer it and is still going on. There are also add ons to each series.

The Lost Hero is a book about a 15 year old demigod named Jason Grace. He is a son of Zeus. His friends, Leo and Piper are also demigods. Leo is a son of Hephaestus, god of fire and blacksmiths, and Piper is a daughter of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. She has the ability to charm speak which means she can basically convince someone to do something and they can't stop themselves from doing it. Jason, Leo, and Piper go on a quest which really has two missions. They have to save Hera and rescue Piper's dad from 3 Cyclopes. Gaea, the goddess of the Earth, has captured Hera and Hera has taken away all of Jason's memories. The three friends set off on the back of a giant metal dragon named Festus and go across the country flying place to place. Throughout their journey, they meet Boreas the North Wind, a trio of Cyclopes, the wicked enchantress Medea, King Midas, a pack of werewolves and Lycaon and the Lord of the Winds, Aeolus. In the end, the three friends manage to save both Piper's father and Hera, whose energies were being used to summon the giant Porphyrion. They temporarily stall Gaea's plans, but they will have to face the giants again. Jason gets his memory back and they realize that he and Percy Jackson have switched places. Jason is supposed to be at the Greek camp and Percy is supposed to be at the Roman camp.

I really enjoyed this book for many reasons. First of all, the main reason I chose this book was because I really like and enjoy has Rick Riordan writes. In 5th grade, I read like 4 of the Percy Jackson series and I really enjoyed it. Since I liked those, I thought I might enjoy this book, and I did. I thought Rick Riordan's idea of Hera taking Jason's memories was just mesmerizing and brilliant. Now, to why I liked this book. First, I liked it because it taught a lot about Roman and Greek mythology. I learned the names of most of the gods and goddesses and their abilities and powers. I also learned which gods and goddesses are good and bad. For example, Gaea is evil and Zeus is good. Second, I liked that the book was in 3rd person. I liked how I would know how each character was feeling and I could mentally visualize what was happening. Third, I liked how Jason, Piper and Leo had their own powers. Jason could strike lighting from the sky and could cause tornadoes and can fly in the clouds. Piper doesn’t really have a power, but she has the ability to charm speak. It came in handy when they were travelling. Leo has special powers. He is able to create anything out anything. Also, he has the ability to create fire and use it against enemies. Since he can produce fore, he is basically immune to fire. So when Festus accidentally blew fire at Leo, nothing happened to him. His clothes were not even burned. I really enjoyed this book and I think anyone who likes mythology and action will like this book.

The Lost Hero by Rich Riordan is a fantasy novel about greek legends and myths. It was published in 2010 and is a sequel to the best selling Percy Jackson series. The book is little over 500 pages and the length of its chapters vary. The protagonist is a boy, named Jason, who has lost his memories. He is attacked by monsters and learns afterwards that he is a demigod. The book has many battles with monsters and other things. Throughout the book, Jason learns more about his memories and his powers.The giants are rising again and trying to overtake the gods. They have captured Hera, the wife of Zeus. Zeus is Jason’s father and has closed off connection to the gods. Jason and his companions must stop the giant king from rising and save Hera. Another hidden objective of Jason’s is to get back his memories. The Lost Hero is similar to the Percy Jackson series.

I liked that The Lost Hero was a fantasy novel. It is able to have many interesting things in the book because of that. It has almost every monster in myths and also has dragons. It is nice that the author has character development for the other characters who journeyed with Jason. One of them is a demigod boy named Leo. He is the son of the god who controls over building weapons and other things. Leo discovers that he has the power to summon fire. The other person is a demigod girl named Piper. She is the daughter of the goddess of beauty and learns that she has the power to charm speak people. She persuades people easily because of this power and saves her friends many times with it. What I did not like was that Piper had more character development than Jason. The story was also very funny.

I would recommend this novel to people who are fans of greek myths. That includes all of the monsters and gods. Rick Riordan, the author, specialized in writing about them and has many others books. I would also recommend the novel to people who have read the prequels. The Lost Hero is the sequel to the Percy Jackson series. It also will have a sequel as is foreshadowed in the book. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading long books. The novel is little over 550 pages. Lastly, I would recommend The Lost Hero to people who like funny books. The book has a lot of funny jokes and scenes in it. They are mostly made by the character Leo. The book was long and had an interesting plot.

The Lost Hero

The book, "The Lost Hero" is about three young adventures that venture on a quest to find a person that will help them unfold their past. The main character of the story, Jason, is the son of a greek god, Zeus, and inherits special abilities like being able to fly, or talk to horses. For example, during a fight scene of the book, Jason summons a electric horse that he can control, and has the ability to talk to. He ends up escaping, and befriends the horse.

I enjoyed reading the book, "The Lost Hero" because the story had a lot of facts on ancient mythology. Most of the characters in the book are the son/daughter of a greek god, so they have the ability to talk, and receive powers that the Gods are most famous for.

I recommend this book to people in middle/elementary school because it can be a good source of research, and it was written in a kid friendly matter. If there was more action in the book, I think that it would be for older kids, but it doesn't have much, so most kid ages are fine. All in all, I would rate this book a 10/10 because it entertained me, and kept me wanting to read more.

This fantasy is about a boy named Jason. Jason wakes up on a bus full of kids headed somewhere on a fieldtrip. He remembers nothing from his past. He finds out that he has a girlfriend named Piper and a best friend named Leo and that very strange things have been happening lately. The three kids get whisked to a place called Camp Half-Blood where these crazy things that have been happening slowly start to make sense. I think that this book is great for elementary age readers. What kid can't relate to waking up and not having any clue what is going on? Everyone can. Although this story is an extreme of that, the introduction into the story with Jason seeming like he will live a normal live, connects the reader to him immediately and makes the story fun to read.

In the first book of the Heroes Of OLympus Series (second series of the Percy Jackson book), Percy Jackson's new books get introduced to new heroes.Piper, who turns out to be a child of Aphrodite, has a variety of strong words in charmspeak. Jason, who becomes a strong child of one of The Big Thhree, Zeus, does not remember anything from his past. THre only thing he remembers is when he is on a bus to a feild trip that he has no idea comes from. Leo, being a child of Hephaestus, is really good in tools and helps a lot in the "mecahnical" things. As all tthree work on a qeust to get Hewera out of her prison and stop Gea from destroyin the gods of Olympus and rule the Universe. If this happened all of the demigods and their godly parent would get destroyed.

 I personally loved this book. I would recommend this book to all you readers who love fiction, a lot of action, Greek mythology (especially gods and goddesses) and if you read and liked the Percy Jackson series. You should at least be about 11 years old. The book will start off a little boring but once you get into it, I promise you that you won't put the book down. Even Publishers Weekly said, "Riordan's storytelling is as polished ever, brimming with, action, and heart-his devotees won't be disappointed."
