A Pocket Guide to A Young Earth

Rate this book
Is the earth billions of years old or just thousands? Are radiometric methods of dating rocks and fossils reliable? What evidences support a young age for the earth? Where did the idea of "millions of years" come from? How old is the earth? Most secular scientists believe the earth to be billions of years old. They most often use radiometric dating methods to support this assertion. But, do they have a rock-solid case? Discover the primary reasons why their belief in billions of years cannot be correct.? This Pocket Guide to A Young Earth examines the age of the earth from a biblical and scientific perspective. It reveals geological information not often presented in public schools and secular colleges, and will equip you with answers that are based on the authority of God s Word.

Very helpful book. To-the-point analysis of current dating methods in this books shows that the millions/billions of years dating of the earth really isn't solid science. There are a lot of assumptions that have to be made in order for the dating methods to be right, and there are huge inconsistencies and errors of dating recent rock formations. Some of the dating methods like Carbon 14 actually give support for young earth. The authors/scientists in this book show how. Very enlightening intro to this subject that shows what was kept hidden and ignored in science class growing up. There is no reason to quickly surrender to modern science on the age of the earth that contradicts the straightforward reading of Genesis.

More nonsense. From someone that wrote papers clearly stating the rocks he was analysing were at least 1.8b yrs old he now writes a book stating the earth is <10,000yrs old, seriously? How could he be that wrong you may ask? Well it seems lying for Jesus you can earn more than being an honest geologist.

While this gives and excellent overview of carbon dating and times of the earth, it also was a bit confusing. Some of the ideaologies they broke down perfectly, but some just did not fully compute. Lots of information in a small package! Worth the read, just don't read if you are sleepy!

Le puse 3 estrellas solo porque siento que se esforzaron, pero realmente creo que merece menos. Creo que hay muchos errores científicos y es altamente sospechoso que toda la investigación que se cita sea de instituciones creacionistas.

Quick summary- has some repetition but that was good for me being unfamiliar with the concepts. Most fascinating is the last chapter on evidence for a young solar system 💫

Extremely helpful, simple, and concise book on the main topics. A really good refresher, and quite up to date (reprinted in 2016).
