Lovely quiet board book with essentially two rhyming couplets about siblings finding baby birds and comparing their love to the love they feel from their own mother. Beautiful illustrations.
Lovely. I'm a little concerned about the 'incorrect' English; I imagine it's meant to represent how African-Americans actually talk (after all, the author is African-American herself) but it reads to my white ears as if it's 'bad' English forced into a rhyme. Overall the book is just so very short I like it but there's not enough of it to love it.
Mama Bird, Baby Birds by Angela Johnson a Kindergarten book to introduce reading and how nature has families to take care of each other very easy reader
