This is the best cookbook for non-cooks to learn and refer to. It’s a bit dated but still totally relevant. I highly recommend it for anybody that needs basic cooking info and easy recipes. There is a new updated and revised edition but I have not seen it. I have a suspicion that the updated version may have sacrificed flavor and classic recipes to go all low-fat and “healthy”.

I learned so much from this old book when I was just learning to cook. It will always have a place on my shelves.

This was the first cookbook I ever bought, and 25 years later I still refer to it frequently. The recipes are indeed easy and they turn out well.
