A clear and practical manual covering the complexity and frightening reality of affording retirement. Want to know how an IRA works? The advantages of a 401(k)? A defined contribution plan? A bypass trust? A reverse mortgage? How to plan your estate? How do you plan for your health care costs? If your head is swimming by now, you should get this book and it will all make sense, and you will be able to retire comfortably.
Although I believe this is the latest edition, the book is a bit dated. I did learn a few things, and must confess that I knew most of the information. BUT....I have educated myself in this area for decades so I DO indeed recommend this book for those that are just starting out in the decades-long endeavor.
This book has good deal more detail on healthcare and estate planning than most books, but the level of detail is insufficient for decision making. I wish they had devoted more text or written additional books directly to these two topics. The book is also fairly expesive for the content value.
