For Dummies Travel guides are the ultimate user-friendly trip planners, combining the broad appeal and time-tested features of the For Dummies series with up-to-the-minute advice and information from the experts at Frommer's. The fun and easy way to explore Europe From great museums and historic sights to fabulous food and trendsetting styles, Europe has it all. Get the lowdown on everything from passports to palaces, culture to nightlife, and cathedrals to cuisine. With mini-guides to fifteen of Europe's most popular cities and surrounding areas in eleven different countries, this book is your ticket to an exciting European adventure. Open the book and find:
Pros: - casually written - not too wordy - lots of tips, heads-up, things to avoid, etc - suggests itineraries with different themes (romance, kids, art-lovers, etc)
Cons: - focused on the big cities only, even the overrated ones, (which is only fair as covering the whole Europe in one guidebook is impossible) - slightly neglects the bus option, and more focused on trains. - black-and-white pages only (not a problem to me).
Overall, value for money, and a good overview of Europe.
This book is great ! Lots of tips for the first timers... How to get the best deals, places to sleep, yummy places to eat and of course safety tips as well. It really did take some of the fear out of traveling abroad. I will be reading more of this one on my flight, cause I definitely didn't the chance to finish .
