Awesome plot. Dark scheme. Very well-built emotions, and in crescendo. Unrequited love. Tortured souls. Platonic longing.

Some manga just don't have a story. They are just a myriad of pictures, or sex.

But others have such emotion and strength you can only wonder at the mere sight of it. This series struck me with a lightning. There are several intertwined plots, and many characters, yet they manage to be all poignant and hypnotizing. Everybody is loved, everybody loves, everybody has a past, eve

Spoiler Review: Chapters 1-26
Although ACID TOWN is labeled as a Yaoi manga, it is foremost a plot-driven story. While it contains elements of shounen ai, it also deals with themes of violence, rape, prostitution, and organized crime. Needless to say, it was not the lighthearted romance one might expect.

The Synopsis:
ACID TOWN takes place in a dystopian setting where law enforcement is rendered nonexistent and authority is held by the gangs which control the city.

Two years ago, Tetsu met Yuki, a

This is the kind of manga that restores my faith in the German manga market. The fact that they publish this kind of series (as well as Kano Miyamoto and Shoko Hidaka) makes it impossible for me to really hate Carlsen, even if they screw up other series and publish inane books like "Juicy Cider".

"Acid Town" is set in a dystopic future and it's about several boys trying to survive in that world. Its tone is rather dark, but the great thing about this series is that the focus isn't on the BL part

This is my typical genre. Quite unexpected, really. Because here I was hoping for a quick fluff and I get my usual fix of angst instead.

Main character has a tortured past. Here's hoping that he's actually the yakuza's son/nephew or something.

The "Acid Town" series is brilliant - it is dark, full of twisting and turning story-lines, secrets, and hidden pasts. Keeping the characters separated in your head is easy - everyone has a unique and different look about them, and their personalities are just as such.

However, the main character (though his back-story is very deep and well-developed) still has much work to do, character-personality-wise. It is, after all, hard to sympathize with a brick wall, which is practically what Yuki is.

Yaoi manga seems to be like the "box of chocolates" proverb: you truly can never anticipate what you're going to find beyond the initial cover. (The following spoiler tag isn't so much for the plot as it is for the content, for those sensitive to child abuse and yaoi tropes.)

The feels are real.

Don't think this is a light story about two guys falling in love and there are going to be some hot stuff in it just because it's in the Yaoi genre.
This series has a dystopian setting where laws are blurred and crimes are committed. It's in a Yaoi genre only because the protagonist's friend falls in love with him. The protagonist has a painful past of rape and prostitution, from which he escapes but obviously can not run from forever. It is a plot driven series where boy's love has very less to

I like that its a yaoi story with a real story behind it and pasts for the characters that intertwine with each other. At one point or the other they all met in their pasts. While it starts just between Tetsu, Hyodo and Yukio (warnings for non-con with a child) later books are all around Rei (the one with the scar) and the reasons behind his war against the Yakuza and his relationship with Matsusuga-san.

Really like the serie.

AWESOME STORY!! I love the drawings as well :] Although you may be hoping for more between the boss and the kid, (cant remember their names) it doesnt get to that point (for the fangirls) which is pretty dissapointing but, the little hints that the two make is pretty fun to read. Yeah there are adult refrences but it isnt anything that one shoyuldnt be able to handle... GREAT BOOK!! I have some pics from the book on my wall :P

First of all, I didn't know that this was a Yaoi manga when I started reading it, and it starts off as an action/ drama kind of thing so I was taken by surprise after a few chapters, yet being fair it's only a kind of romance rather than erotica, but still not my thing....

Liked the art and how quick it reads, and fortunately how short it is

The plot didn’t make complete sense to me in the beginning, but in the recent chapters a lot of things were explained which cleared things up a bit for me. Kyuugou's art is flawless and I really enjoy reading this series.
I’d also like to buy the volumes that are out, but can’t find a store where they sell them in English. Can anyone help me out?

I freaking LOVE this manga. Yuki is so adorable and sweet. i love how he cares about his little brother. My only problem with this manga is it takes too long to release a new chapter, i start reading it back in 2011 and it is still on-going.

I love this series! There isn't that much yaoi in the beginning, but the plot of the story is overall well done. The characters are easy to relate to and the drawing style is awesome! You find sly, deceiving villains in this and trustworthy friends. Tensions get high and...
