So Ness is now in Vidya where Devdan comes from after them both having to flee the island that Ness grew up on at the end of The Sea-Wreck Stranger after Devdan’s existance was discovered and Ness’s involvement made clear. December 2013: Book 2 in a series for which I have not read Book 1. I think there was enough background for this to not be a problem though.

I would have liked this book more if it had been a bit longer and a bit more resolution at the end. THe Ness - Dev- Ronan storyline didn't really go anywhere and I was left feeling like fighting with the paras was basically all the story was about. For that reason Im wondering if it's better pegged at MG than YA - just not enough substance or body to it. T

Ebony Hill is the sequel to The Sea-Wreck Stranger. It was well written and descriptive and people who hadn't read the first book would've coped. At times I felt bored and didn't want to continue as Anna Mackenzie dragged scenes on but most of the time, I was gripped and couldn't put the book down. Overall I rate this book 3.5 stars. I will still read the last of the trilogy, Finder's Shore.

Ebony Hill is the sequal to Sea-wreak Stranger.
It took me a while to pick up where I'd left off at the other book, but I did enjoy it once I got into it.
Thyough, I must say, it seemed rathwer pointless, I hope there is a third book so that one had a point.

I'm sure if I stuck with it, the boo would be great but I just couldn't. I loved Sea Wrecked Stranger but I ended up not finishing this one.
