A "Mr. Universe" title winner and IFBB Pro Bodybuilding Hall of Famer outlines a fitness program that can be accomplished in as little as twelve weeks, drawing on the author's experience as the head of Labrada Nutrition to present a series of workouts and a metabolism-bolstering diet. 75,000 first printing.
If you are new to fitness and balanced nutrition this might be a great start. I found out about Lean Body Program via Bodybuilding.com and I am currently finishing Week 4 of it. Being a workout enthusiast I got a bit bored by the limited variety of exercises but don't get me wrong - this 12-week program can give you incredible results if you stick to guidelines. Don't just read the book, apply it!
A lot of this information is outdated, as it touts things here and there that more current diet books will advise against. Also rather heavy on the exercise-side of things.
Actually has a section before starting the diet proper that deals with the mentality of the dieter, which is nice, and something I think more diet books ought to include.
This book actually makes sense. Who can't exercise 30 minutes a day or eat balanced meals 5 times a day? This seems to be one of the easier body transformation plans I've seen. I guess the question is whether or not it's effective or the author is just telling people what they want to know.
Self help book. I enjoyed how he explained certain things like the need to fatigue muscles or lift a little more challenging weight. Same for coordinating food as body processes it translated to weight gain or loss. To me, he said a lot in an easy to understand way.
Very good suggestions, especially liked the food lists as good suggestions. Even a few new ideas can make a big difference to how our 'furnace' can be optimized to burn better!
