Brian Robertson's Little Blues Book is a fun little volume full of quotes from blues songs, short essays on the blues, quotes from blues singers and the amazing portraits of Robert Crumb. There are some intersting charts illustrating things like the straight jobs blues singers have had or the way they died. This is an excellent introduction to the concepts and ideology of blues and a great jumping off point for people just getting into this amazing music. It would be an even better Blues 101 text if it came with a CD. Long time fans will also love running into lyrics from their favorite song or having a re-think on what the blues means. And did I mention the R. Crumb art? Righteous!
